Money2536's Review of Dundon Motorsports Headers/Exhaust
#46
Drifting
I know I've said something like this about half a dozen times on this forum, "I think this is the exhaust for me?" Notice the question mark? Well...this time I'm pretty certain it should be a statement. "This is the exhaust for me." Now I haven't had a ton of seat-time with it, but I may even venture to make this proclamation. "This is the exhaust system for everyone!"
This review is going to be a work in progress, but I couldn't wait to get this thread started.
Here is what I have so far. I'll update over the course of the next few weeks as I compile more data, observations, and make more video.
I've recently started watermarking my photos. I figure since I keep seeing my photos being used, I might as well get some credit for them.

Yes I have been thinking about this. I would have to build a new full system headers out but it's possible. No guarantee we get the same power though. I will try to build a full header system with cats

I don't know about 991 but on 997 people who ran side bypass pipes had a lot of issues with the oem center muffler cracking, especially those who tracked. Is the 991 center muffler more robust ? I know you are concurrently working on a 997 version of this system too so definitely interested in your findings around the center muffler. I'm really excited about a cat'd version of your exhaust, but want to make sure the oem center muffler is up to the task.

With my advancing age, and having dedicated race and track cars, I keep the catalysts. Modern high flow cats ar light, relatively inexpensive and cost almost nothing on the dyno. There is IMO no excuse not to run cats on a car that is primarily street. You don't need the tiny power increase and you aren't racing. And the pontificating part of me says if everyone thought they were above the law the skies would be like China and India.
This is the most sophisticated header design available for GT3 (just not for 991 yet). Stepped diameter minimizes low-end torque loss. Definitely the one to emulate....

If I get the de-cat version now. Will I be able to add the cat (after it's coming out) to the system later?

What's important to us is to offer the catted version with as close to the non catted versions performance as possible. The cats are inbound and we need to get them in there with the current setup and see what we can do with fitment. If we have to change the header routing to accommodate the cats, flaps etc... then they would be 2 distinct parts. We want to be able to just switch a few parts on the current setup and fit the cats, but what we want and what fits and preserves the most performance benefits may not coincide...
As we get into it things will become more clear!
Will post updates as we know!
