Seats
Since the OEM LWB's are unobtainable, and 5 figure numbers are being thrown around as a price point when they ARE, I thought I would ask if anyone had gone with anything else, and their reviews.
LWB's were not an option when I specced my car.
The Recaro Profi SPAs look like a decent alternative...

I had Racetech seats in my GT3, solid, relatively inexpensive and have a great feel on track. I know someone that could customize the seat to look like an OE for your specific GT car.

This is an issue as well for me, I have Recaro sport seats which are just OK -- one season and they look a little shabby; went for the "low cost" solution and am not happy with it.
Any more information on the Racetech seats or other options people are happy with ...

I Googled the Racetechs last night. Their carbon option is just as expensive as the Recaros, a little over $2k. Can't comment on durability of either seat.

Any contact info on someone who can make custom seats would be appreciated. Please PM me.

I went with in the US GT 2 seats which also are the 991 GT3 seats in Europe. They are plug and play with thorax airbags and are OEM. Plus they are light carbon fiber, comfortable and give access to the back of the car. They are only available from people who bought new when they were sold by Porsche. They come up on Rennlist every few weeks, not cheap tho

I believe Suncoast can supply the GT2 buckets.

They are listed on the web site but there is an indeterminable delivery date. I called and they aren't taking orders for them. I think Vivid and Carnewal (Germany) also offered them when they were being shipping a few years ago. I wasn't able to find a new supply.
May be worth a call to all the above to see if supply has opened back up.
They come up on the Rennlist sales forum every month, but they don't last more than a few hours. I caught the third listing I saw. Not an easy option or cheap option but OEM, comfortable and no insurance hassles for a street/track dual purpose car.

I went with cobra suzuka pro technology. They fit in the car fine but are a better track seat than a DD seat as they are pretty snug around the shoulders.

Put the track seat with sliders and side mounts attached head first back side up down and into the passenger foot well. I've done it on several cars. When you get to the track swap the seats for the driver. It shouldn't take more than 20 minutes after you have done it once. This works great if you run solo and don't plan on having a passenger due to the same seat rule many clubs impose at the track.
