Default New GT3 owner here

Well that didn't last long, lol. Got my 991 Carrera S march of last year and decided it was time for a GT3.

I gotta say, I LOVE it. I really wan unprepared for how different of an animal it would be. I expected that it would be like stepping up to an M3 from a 335. Boy was i WRONG. The GT3 is like an uncaged rabid lioness. The difference between a Carrera S and my new GT3 is like another universe entirely! All the mechanical sounds, the ride, the performance.. its just visceral. The PDK in the GT3 behaves completely differently than the Carrera S. And those shifts!!! That 'thud" sound when shifting under acceleration! What is that sound?!?! Its AWESOME!!!!

Anyone want to school me on things I should know about this wonderful car???

Here are some pics I just took 30 minutes ago when she was feeding:

Congrats Marv, wonderful color. I think the yellow or red will be my next GT3.

I had a yellow 993 and always like the way it looked. It's a great color for a car that deserves to stand out like a GT3 does.

I stepped up from a '14 C4S and was blown away by the difference between the two cars. I love every raw mechanical sound it makes although there are a few loud clunks that I haven't figured out yet.

Congratulations. Stunning in yellow.

I think one significant difference with the GT3 is that in PDK sport mode there is no kickdown feature, only in normal mode. The idea behind this is so as not to upset the car. There is more info on the following link.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/8...-question.html

In normal auto mode, when you mash the throttle it will kickdown to provide a higher power band. In PDK sport, it will not. It will only drop gears as your revs go down. This is the same in manual PDK sport mode. It will only kickdown when in normal auto mode.

The other is the steering, which you didn't mention. Much better than in the carrera line up. Enjoy

I love reading about new GT3 owner experiences. Surprise and joy comes through and results in greater appreciation of the car and how lucky we all are to own one.

Fantastic looking car Marv, congratulations, and thanks for sharing your experience!

Congrats on the new car. Love it in yellow. I did the same in December and this car is a beast, very different from the Carrera S. Enjoy all the new sounds and sensations.
