My RS probably heaviest possible config with no light weight options, spray bottle full, books in the glov box, floor mats in, full leather, Nav, sound + and roll bar harnesses added @ 3250 + 250 driver + fuel.

I always pee before going out on track. #2 whenever possible.
I've done lightweight battery and side muffer delete on other cars, the only 2 cheap weight reductions.

100lb weight reduction is equivalent of .8 seconds at Sebring for me.

Better exhaust all our talent first with 10k in data / coaching and diet before throwing money at weight reduction.

Stereo, carpets, etc. etc. grams start adding into pounds, but not worth it IMO unless you are racing and can extract full performance from the car. I get his point though. Most of us could stand to lose a few. Or More than a few. His "ideal" number does not work for though. For example if you are 170 lbs at 6' tall, even at a very lean 10% body fat, you aren't carrying that much muscle mass. I would have so little body fat at 170 lbs that it would be unhealthy (well into single digit %).

I have been lifting weights for many years and have a lot of muscle weight. I'm 6' 220. At 170 I'd look emaciated. I'm in best shape around 210 running 5 miles per day

Body Mass Index (BMI) is utilized to calculate ideal body weight for a given height/weight, gender ... BMI should be in range 20-25, for best long-term health, life expectancy, and lowest incidence of associated illnesses (e.g. diabetes, hypertension).

There are easily accessible BMI calculators on the web (just google, bing, etc.).

Athletes with above average muscle mass will tend to exceed the highest recommended BMI for optimal health (i.e. somewhat above 25.0).

Unfortunately, approximately 2/3rds of us Americans are either "overweight" (BMI 25.1-30.0) or "obese" (BMI >30.0).

A 6'0" 170lb male has BMI=23.1
At 6'0" and 210lb your BMI is 28.5 ... if you're "athletic" and can run a 36-38 minute 5-miler you're aerobically fit, but could reduce long term joint degradation if you bring yourself down to 190lbs or less ...

However, we all have a certain "set-point" weight at which we feel comfortable ... life needs to be enjoyed and each of us needs to determine what body weight keeps us happy.
