Lwb seat cushion removal - headroom?

All - Do you gain any headroom by removing the seat cushion in the buckets? And can something be fanned to make it tolerable on the track without the cushion? The buckets are right on the edge of fitting me. Om the road they are no problem. Of course I will try it as well but just curious. Also, the removal and replacement is very easy, right? I am looking at a car with lwb. Thanks.

Yes, you go down.
I feel the car a bit better on track, but I don't sit too high with the cushion in, so some track days I don't bother to lift it out. If I'm going for a best lap effort, Id take it out.

Any idea how much lower? And it's doable without any cushion on the track?

All I need is one inch more headroom and the buckets are doable. This is fantastic info. On the street without a helmet I can ride with the cushion no problem
Thanks!!

I removed them in my previous car. An inch gain sounds about right. I actually liked the feel without the center section.

I am 6'4" as well, and have no problem with head clearance in the GT3 with a helmet on. In fact, I don't even have to put the LWB seat all the way down for enough headroom. I actually adjust it upwards slightly to have a better forward view over the hood and fenders.
In previous cars with a sunroof, I have had a problem though, and often removed the bottom cushion on the driver's seat to clear the roof when wearing a helmet. If the seat wasn't comfortable enough that way, I would use a thin neoprene pad under my butt, like a cheapo stadium cushion.
