Cool Mike. I'm glad it worked out. As time goes by we can hopefully NOT find out how good this warranty is. On paper it looks great!

Amen brother! And thanks, Nick, for the initial lead on the warranty company.

Just read all this!!!

Great research and analysis.

This has helped me to make some informed choices.

My P dealer isn't going to know what hit him on my test drive tomorrow!!

Thanks to Macca and other contributors

Thanks Macca and everybody for all the details... sadly, or luckily, I ended up reading the whole thread, just because my F-engined GT3 (6K miles, I had it for 1 week, and put 200miles on each direction) lasted 2 laps at Thunderhill (the warm-up lap, and the next one, didn't think I pushed that hard -pretty sure I didn't-)
I don't think I saw any comments on the G engines exhibiting the same problem, perhaps because it is still too early to tell, but by this time I'd expect to see some early signs.... for now the dealership seems to be doing the right thing and asking for an engine replacement, which should be a G one.
Anything else I should be aware of ?
Anything I need to ask for or be careful about ?

Appreciate any comment or feedback.

I think if you read the first post here by Rob, you'll see Porsche has a new top end design that is now available with the full engine replacement. You should be getting one of those new engines. Congrats it solves the problem and comes with a 10 year/120k warranty!

We are not aware of the new serial number designation. It should be above G6. So if you can get that and report it back that would help others. Since you are one of the first since the announcement, it will be good to see how long the process takes now that they aren't deciding on a top end rebuild or replacement.

Good luck and keep us up to date.
