This white storm-trooper 991 GT3RS came in for the local special dish known as a main course of the SharkWerks bypass exhaust, our larger 100mm tips for desert served with an RSS rollbar.

In she comes:


Up she goes...


SharkWerks exhaust gets installed in around an hour and without any bumper removal. Locks into place on to the factory mounts and slip-fits over to the side mufflers:


The stock exhaust box and tips. Although the stock center is still Ti as on previous generations it's still not any lighter than our center piece. The tips this time around are non-Ti and 88mm:


The larger SharkWerks 100mm ceramic coated tips seem to be a more preferred option on the 991 GT3RS vs the 997.2 GT3RS which came with Titanium:

A roll bar installation is certainly a bit more involving and trickier in terms of removal, modifications, trimming etc... than on the 997s. So for DIY'ers be sure to take your time and be careful:

Thanks mate I used to tell folks on the 997.2GT3RS to just leave the stock Ti' ones but since the 991 RS ones are the same as the stock non RS we figure why not go a bit more aggro

Weight difference between sw bypass and rs center muffler?

Because it's ti stock ours is only about 1.5pounds lighter. Out tips are lighter too but hey

And for the love of everything holy they aren't cheap so for those that decide on bypass install don't discard RS stock center muffler.....at some point in future you'll be happy you had saved it.

What is the advantage of doing a center replacement instead of just doing a side muffler bypass, besides the use of the valves?

Is the owner willing to sell the stock box and tips?

I also just replaced the center muffler on my RS with the SW center bypass. The stock exhaust sounded pretty good, but tends to drone more with the valves unplugged. I didn't like the transition at 3700rpm. Now with the SW center bypass and valves unplugged, there's not much drone and is a bit louder than stock. The pitch didn't change too much.

I recently drove a GT3 with just side muffler bypass. I felt that there was slightly more drone, although it was more tolerable, and also felt slightly more raw in sound. The pitch is maybe slightly deeper and only slightly louder. You do loose more weight though.

I prefer my RS with SW center bypass more than the GT3 with side muffler bypass. Both set up with valves unplugged.

Does anyone have experience with the SW racepipe (both center and side muffler bypassed).
