New Member - 991 GT3 (and some others)
Quick intro: I can't say I grew up a "Porsche" guy, I've always appreciated them, but never quite understood the passion, until now. I've had a 997.1 Turbo 6MT, a 997.2 Turbo PDK, and until I bought the Range Rover I daily'd a 958 Cayenne Turbo, all of which were great cars, and the 997.2 was fast for a bone stock example. However, a friend of mine bought a 991 GT3 about a year ago, it was an allocation that the buyer fell through, and he loved it (until he sold it). I drove it once and that was enough to let my sales guy know if they ever ran across another, to let me know. Well, he let me know a few weeks ago of a late 2014 that they received on consignment, I went up, test drove it, went home, slept on it, then went back the next day and purchased it.
I have to say that I've had a lot of cars, from my first 997.1 to my old Aventador, and lots in between, and this car is pretty much tied with my Huracan as "most fun to drive", it trumps it in some areas, and vice versa in others. It has the options I care about, mainly PCCB, front lift, and the upgraded headlights. It does have some extended alcantara and some random carbon fiber, but it's neither here nor there.
I usually modify cars pretty quickly, and in this instance, I really don't want to do a whole lot. It's a weekender/cruiser for me and I'm of the firm belief that 90% of cars look the best they will slightly lowered on a good set of wheels, those wheels are in motion.
I don't have many pictures of it yet, I've only owned it for about 10 days. I'll be getting more pictures once the weather clears up.
It's now tinted and I did install the BBi side muffler deletes, and I lowered the car 1/2" in the rear and 1/3" in the front last night. As much as I love the stock rolling stock, I have some new HRE's on order that should be here in a few weeks. After that, and hardwiring a radar detector, the car is done. Here is a quick fender shot of where the ride height is now.
I'll get much better pictures this week.
