Default Extended Warranty...GT3

I am calling around trying to get quotes on an extended warranty for the 2015 GT3 I just bought second-hand. A few things I have found out so far.

1. My local dealer said the warranty company they use doesn't provide coverage for GT3's. The company wasn't Fidelity. I didn't recognize the name.

2. Geico only offers the MBI coverage on new vehicles, and you need to be the original owner.

3. Fidelity says they do not cover these vehicles.

4. Spoke with EasyCare. Looks like they WILL offer the warranty. Gave me the number of a local dealer in the area, so getting a quote for it. EC said i will need to bring the car down for an inspection, but should be pretty simple.

If anyone knows of any options, I would appreciate it!

Rob

Did you buy from an individual seller, not a dealer?

The one nice thing about buying from the dealer is getting a CPO warranty, often extended for a few years

Individual seller. That would be the one nice thing about going through the dealer. lol

Just curious why one would buy a warranty from a third party when it can be extended through Porsche for all models including GT3 and RS? I understand Porsche warranty can be renewed on annual or biannual basis until the vehicle is 8 or 9 years old (which would make it 10 years old upon expiry of the last renewal).

That is good to know.

I love my GT3 but I'm still a little worried about the long-term reliability of the engine. I may just extend the warranty for several more years.

I don't think this is true, at least in the US.

Not available in the US.

OP- if you are in US, suggest check EasyCare. I got a mailer from my dealer offering EasyCare. So presume they will cover GT3, unless it was just an automated robot mail out to all 911s. I haven't followed up on it, still might be worth checking with them. If you do, let us know details. Thanks, best of luck.

Edit- fyi, I did contact EasyCare about extended warranty for my Cayman R last year. I asked about exclusions and specifically HPDE. They said they would not cover track use.

Thanks for the help! I filled out the form. I will report back.

Okay got a quote. EasyCare will provide 7 years, 60k miles from service date for $4,935. $250 deductible.

AAA offers extended warranties I believe. They are not going anywhere. Or through dealer best idea.

AFAIK, I haven't seen anyone "go through the dealer" unless it was a CPO car bought used. When I picked up my 2015 brand new, the dealer checked, and no one would cover the GT3. The Easy Care quote above is the only one I have seen so far. And that is really a 3 year extension (for most of us), for about $5,000. Not a great price, but for piece of mind, I know I will be adding a 3rd party insurance before my OEM warranty expires.

Exactly my feelings. But I will check with AAA and report back. Figuring this will help someone out there!

Thanks for the info. I have had Easy Care on my 2 previous cars and have no complaints. It is a nice piece of mind to have it. It also makes it much easier to sell the car private party if there is some warranty left

No problem. Did you ever actually file a claim with them?
