^^But it's not discontinued?
The big, big dealers around here haven't gotten any allocations, last ones June and no more.
The largest North American dealer would get at least one? Maybe I'll drive by again and sit him down.

That's correct, April/May build date for June delivery. July is when they re-tool to produce next years model for late July early August delivery.
Allocations are slowly released/spread out. I think this is just to pacify/slow down high demand. Besides this is after all the 991 GT3RS. No more allocations as they are all spoken for.
If there is any hope of a Gen2, probably slim to none. Why? The 991.1 just came out and is still in production.
I hope for the benefit of those who hasn't gotten one that a Gen2 (991.2) will be produced. We would hope so.

Porsche cannot lose the competitive edge with the other folks out there. They have to continue the GT3, GT3 RS, GT4 lines. What the engines will be like, no one knows yet, but you can bet there will always be an RS type car.

Err, no. There's almost certainly going to be a 991.2 GT3 RS... it's just not going to come out for another couple years. Porsche cannot lose the competitive edge with the other folks out there. And I wouldn't be surprised if we see the 991.2gt3 pretty soon. Probably won't be to big of change from gen1.
Demand is still pretty good for .1gt3 and don't forget it came out 2014. Are we going to see 2017 991.2gt3?
