Thank you all for the warm welcome.
The trip back was actually quite comfortable. The suspension in normal mode is plenty compliant. I had no issues with fatigue or anything. I think the standard sport seats are really great...had no interest in the LWBs. The road and tire noise were fine, and I like how you actually can hear a little of what is going on outside the car instead of being more isolated. The car is bigger than the 997, and I'm 6'2 with wide shoulders so I like the extra interior space. The modern electronics are nice as well. Mine has the bluetooth option, and it streamed music with no issue. Conversations over the bluetooth system were also straight forward and easy to understand.
As far as overall comfort on a long trip, I think I'd have to say the GT3 is actually slightly better. The 997 in standard suspension mode is a bit loose and floaty in comparison. Less interior room for me to move around. The GT3's seats fit me a lot better.
The sound of the GT3 is amazing, but when it comes to POWER, my turbo in particular has it in spades. I actually have the factory turbo 60-130 acceleration records for the 997 platform on both pump gas and E85. On ethanol, the car has no problem spinning all 4 clear through second gear The midrange is just absurd on the highway. Look at the pedal hard, and you've accelerated 20 mph haha.
