Towing with U-Haul Auto Transport

When I towed my 997 C2S with the U-haul trailer, I put a car cover on my 997, and a tarp on top of that. Secured with rope and bungees. Towed it from coast to coast behind a U haul truck without a problem two weeks ago. Shipped my 991 GT3 separately in an enclosed truck carrier.
Now that I just moved to LA, I gotta figure out what to do about the front license plate situation before I register my cars in CA.
I so don't want to drill the front bumpers on either car, and I don't want to use a front plate on my GT3 which looks so good without a front plate.

Here on Long Island a bunch of us go to a car show at Oak Beach every Sunday morning. Cops sit at the exit and wave you over/give you a ticket if you don't have a front plate. Bastids. Its a blatant money grab.

My race cars had FAR less frontal clearance than our GT3 / GT3RS's. For loading on the Race trailer I bought Two 12' Boards, 12" wide X 2" Thick from Home Depot and had them Cut the ends at 30 Degree Angles. Also bought Two shorter Boards, 3' Long X 12" Wide with similar Angle Cuts.
With less than 2" frontal clearance, I placed the "Normal" metal Trailer ramps on top of the ends of the 12' Boards
and the shorter 3' ramps against the front Tires to lift the front of the car onto the longer boards and drove it onto the trailer, and yes, I had to exit through the drivers window - but nothing touched.
I then loaded the boards onto the trailer under the car and reversed the procedure arriving at the track.
Nominal 2 inch thick boards are actually 1.5 inches thick.
