FYI. The "tell tale" is when the fault reads again as soon as you exceed 7000 rpm. Ive been keeping an informal eye on the issue. A number of GT3 owners around the world have PM'd me their situation and the outcome from Porsche. I believe it has also happened to a 991 GT3RS so possibly that car is not immune. We are likely dealing with an oiling issues at high lateral (g) loads. Hence why the oiling pressure patch mentioned on the latest "plug/coil" TSB is of interest....

Hi guys:
Also had a misfire issue early October when on track. Error code was "cam shaft sensor failure". Cleared error and tried again and misfire came back after few laps. Had camshaft sensor replaced at dealer (free of charge) and car was running fine since but was not on track again and car is now in hibernation.
Already reported this to Macca (he seems to keep really good track of these issues). Hope it was really just the senor. Next season will show.
Car has now 17.000 km and roughly 3000 km on track. So a lot of street driving with lower rpm.
Mostly drive auto mode on track but short shifting manually often to avoid 9 k rpm.
My feeling is that shifting at around 8500 to 8600 does not really lose significant time. Only when battling with RS I really need to squeeze out every drop - car then does basically same acceleration as RS (991GT3RS that is) ....

I really didn't want to like the RS, because my head tells me it is stupid (for me at least) to drive a car on the track that expensive to repair. But my heart says buy it. The mid-range torque was great, the braking was better than I expected due to the bigger contact patch, and although it still had some understeer, it was way less than the stock GT3. Overall, I'd put my modded GT3 about halfway to the RS, but certainly not all the way. I wasn't pushing it, but I think it is worth at least 1 to 1.5 seconds on the 2 mile AMP circuit. About the same improvement that you would get with R7s - a much cheaper option! There is no way you can argue that the car makes sense in terms of the value proposition, but I do understand the emotional appeal. I'm next on the list for an RS, so I still have some time to decide.
