Looks like you had lots of fun! Steel brake GT3's have more clearance to the barrel so the clag doesn't build up on that part of the barrel as much.

Because we can't do anything about the size of the brake itself (well you could, but I'm sure most wont want to purchase a new brake system all together), the best advice I could give would be to use wheel wax on the barrel itself just to make it easier to clean off the barrel at the end of a track day. If this was a 20" wheel then we would have more clearance to the brake and you'd have an easier time cleaning it, but of course we want performance on the track, hence why sticking with a 19" wheel is what we see the hardcore track guys use.

There is cleanup and some missing paint on the calipers. It has been suggested that I try prep-sol to get the current clag off the wheel and caliper. I'll let you know how it goes. At this point I'm considering ordering a set of steel calipers/rotors and getting the PCCB calipers repaired.

l really like the looks of the 19's as well. Question regarding the subject of speedo. How far "off" is it? Is it something that can be handled via software or is everyone just dealing with the difference?

Did you prep the barrel prior to use as suggested above with wheel wax or was this just a standard clean wheel to start?

Would something like high temp PAM (that non stick spray for cooking ) help? Just a thought...

Or maybe a market for some kind of flexible scraper...

I really want to run 19 on my RS with PCCB...

Has this been done to an RS yet? I was told it's possible but needs adjustments to the wheel hub.

I didn't coat my front wheels as they were swapped out a couple of times to get the fitment correct and I ran out of time. With how little clearance there is I'm sure it would help, but you are still going to have clag all over and missing paint. As far as pam or another spray could be really bad if it were to get on the rotors.

I bought a set of steel calipers so we'll see how much better the clearance is. Pretty reasonable priced for a Porsche part.
