Cool, I enjoyed reading that. Interesting to see the emphasis on the outsourced supplier issues. Must be a big recurring problem for them to even mention it to the journalist. I guess this is what happens at the borders between one-off custom Motorsport work and large scale production. I wonder what the other outsourcing problems were apart from LWB, and maybe PTS panels and the Mg roof?? Also looks like they had a little laugh at all the rumours of a GT4 RS while they were working on the ClubSport. Overall, AP's group seems like a really neat place to work.

Yeah the article does make note that the GT team is involved with car design to make sure the platforms can be supported by the GT team.

Not to say the GT cars aren't custom designed but I think the day-day cars allow the GT team to tweak them and add more incremental performance improvements.

+1
If memory serves me, I thought that the engineers in the Motorsport group don't work solely for Motorsport, but also contribute to the "regular" production cars as part of the larger team generally.

Very true. Another $10k over the existing +$100k MSRP on current inventory cars.

Great little article and so true that is why we all participate in this forum. We all have a love for the "pure" driving experience and Porsche is one of the very few car manufacturers today who can deliver that experience/package on the road and track.

"To own a 911 GT3 or better still an RS is to publicly, emphatically state that you love driving. These cars are like time capsules, showing Porsche’s best at a moment in time.”

Q for Peter (Trakcar)... looking at the photo of the RS driven in the rain, did you notice any spray or muck sent up through the wing vents onto the car or windscreen? In the photo in the Forbes review it doesn't appear so. I remember when I was looking at a Sagaris many years back, TVR said they blanked the wing vents for safety to stop broken windscreens etc.

No, not at all, not in the rain and not in the light snow.
I'm taking the screens out as soon as the car gets home.
