+1^
I drove one on the street and it is a very nice car. Add the extra hp and a shorter box, already a very very nice one, and you have a winner.

.... Interesting & Good Read from CAR magazine... Their Sportscar of the year is: RS 1st, 488 2nd and LT 3rd..... with GT4 winner if money would be in the equation as well... (let me know if I am breaking any forum rules posting this...)

Porsche are probably laughing their way to the bank right about now. "Forget about developing the best car we could, just stick a manual in it and all these punters will name it car of the year" (note: I'm not saying the GT4 is not a good car, on the contrary I think it's an excellent car really). As stated by someone in this thread, I don't get how GT3 won a couple of years ago and RS didn't?! And I really don't get this too fast for road nonsense. Anyhoooo, great news for the GT4 and the gang buying it/have it!

Im surprised the 675lt didnt win. I think its the ultimate supercar today under 1 million, and has more dynamic range than anything from Porsche (in terms of its supple ride on the road and domination on track). I think it'll win the tcoty with the GT3 rs in a close second.

Very good comments from Car magazine as well. Just goes to show that while it's nice to have your car "win" (I own a GT4), the usefulness of these articles is in the relative comparison of pros/cons.

^ I think his point is that track time COMPARISONS are meaningless if they aren't on equal tires -- which of course is always a factor.
I need to take a spin in a LT. I owned a Mac like you Serge, but it was one of my least favorite cars to track. Actually preferred to track my 3.8L Spyder, and much much preferred to track a 991 GT3. Were they faster than the Mac? No, but much better at translating driver input to the road, and hence much more enjoyable to drive.

A single track time is nice, but for most folks who are recreational track rats or the weekend HPDE participant, the more relevant metric is how durable the car is on the track. Or point another way, how many times can the car replicate the quoted track time.
It's nice to say my car can do X time at Y track, but can you beat on that car in that same track for, say, a 30 minute session and still replicate that X time over and over again (give or take a few seconds)?
Say what you want about the GT3, but it can take a beating over and over again, and for the most part, come out no worse for wear.
The MP4-12C I know for a fact cannot. Neither can the R8. And from all that I've read the C7 Z06 cannot either.
How many of the cars on either evo or CAR list can take the repeated pounding that the GT3/RS?

Congratulations to Mr. Andreas Preuninger for another win under his team's belt. It's hard enough to reach the pinnacle of your trade once in life, to do it year after year after year, and now on a new platform, is beyond something special.
