Two thumbs up for their Sales, Service and Parts Departments.

Six month wait until I can start the breakin. This RS will see lots of Lapping Events at Grand Bend Raceway in 2016.

Thanks Porsche of London in London Ontario Canada.
Excellent news!!!

What source did it come from?

There will not be any second allocation. They are behind scedule with the 2000 they will build (600 for EU and 1200 for rest of the world). They should be produced by desember 2015 but now they say spring 2016.

His post is dated...my SA put in PTS on Monday and Porsche bounced it back on Tuesday. Here's part of the email from my SA on Tuesday afternoon (11/4)...

"Also, Porsche has kicked out all PTS (Paint to sample) requests. We don’t know if or when they might allow PTS for the GT4, but for the time being, Porsche has substituted Black (A1) as the exterior color on your order.

We can leave your order as BLACK or change to one of the other standard colors. But for now, we can’t order PTS.

Your order has a FREEZE DATE of 2/22/16. That means at the current time, Porsche plans to FREEZE the configuration and not allow any more changes as of that date (2/22/16). If that schedule holds, your GT4 would be built in April of 2016.

We can leave your order in the system and monitor for progress along the PTS lines. If PTS approval comes through before your order freezes, we can make the substitution."

My PTS rejected on GT4 today but Porsche will do PTS on a 17 carerra No problem (for them). Was told remaining GT4 all 16 model year and PTS only available for 17 models.

Nice that they will keep making gt4 as 17s! That's the first time I've heard that.
Is the PTS window only closed for GT cars?

Sorry for my confusing post. The GT4s will be 16s manufactured in april delivered June/July of 16. PTS is open for at least 991.2 models for 17 model year but no info on 17 GT cars.

How easy/hard is it to get a PTS color on a non-GT?

This is why PTS colors on GT cars are so valuable for resale.

Porsche makes it relatively easy to order regular 911s with PTS, and uses PTS as a selling point and profit generator, but the exact opposite situation exists for the Porsche "halo" GT cars.

I don't know if it is exponentially more difficult for Porsche from a logistics standpoint to accomplish PTS on a limited number of GT cars vs all the regular 911s that are going through the factory every day, or if its just the fact that Porsche knows that the buyers of their GT cars will do anything to land a GT car and so will accept GT cars in regular factory colors compared to buyers of regular 911s, for which they need to encourage 911 sales with discounts, PTS, etc.
