It's interesting. Talked to a huge BMW aftermarket parts supplier Friday on a Porsche related matter. Discussing the huge aftermarket business in the BMW world. BMW saw all the money being made there and with the tuning, and they started offering all those parts themselves to capitalize on the market. Smart huh??
By the way, the used 991 GT3 market is at its highest inventory now than it's ever been. Many of them are sitting at dealers who overpaid to acquire them. The secondary market for them isn't ready to bite until prices come down. The guy spending close to or MSRP on a model that's on its 3rd year, wants it built to spec and wants no compromises. Not to mention, they're moving on to the next latest/greatest.

Although, I don't think more GT4's = more RS's necessarily. Time will tell. No clue.

exactly....
RS/Gt4/Gt3 are halo products..... if you want to make money build 50,000 Macan GTS.. that's where the money is. Have you seen how much the Macan apple connect costs?

Exactly, a couple of hundred cars doesn't move the needle much. I bet the RS is more of a pain than it is profitable.

The Macan will be the bread and butter for Porsche. That's no secret if you follow automotive financial points.
The RS is very profitable. But it also costs a lot to produce. If Porsche uses the money used in making an RS and makes, say three Macans, the profits eclipse what the RS would bring in. The RS is a brand maintainance tool.

I passed on a GT4 allocation last week. I think they are still out there.

Passed on two gt4 allocations. Noticed the the RS brokers have more and more coming in and premiums down from 150 over for modifiable builds to 100-110 over. Also see auto gallery in LA has 5 on the floor now. Don't want to start the economics debate again but for me I guess I just accepted I won't get an RS as while the premiums were annoying what really annoyed me were the dealer/broker attitudes in telling me how I couldn't miss out or missing out would be foolish so my stubborn nature kicked in and I wanted to see them eat it. Just wait till china comes clean and tanks the world economies...again.

Yup, I'd be pissed if I was a stakeholder PAG/VW. Btw, why are they limiting LWB seats for GT4s and Spyders recently? They are basically done building GT3s so to me that's a tell that they are reserving thoseLWB seats for more upcoming RS allocations. Just saying...

I am in the same boat; passed and waiting for an RS.
