So much for the car not being functional without the wing and the existing front bumper. Now that the R is out. Wonder how many will convert a 3 to PDK R?

One might have huge problems in case of an accident. At least in EU. Removing that thing unbalances the car at high speed.

What about the R, looks like it has the same front and rear bumpers as the 3, just a mechanical wing on the deck.

Not knowing what to do I visited the great guru on the mountain. His only words were "real Porsches have wings."

A GT3 has a wing, period. What else could we add or take off that would make it look better? If you want a car with no wing get an R... OH can't get one of those can I HUM....

That is why the R is not a GT3/RS, it's just an R. I'm calling Shinanigans due to it's limited production. Should be as easy to get as a Turbo or GTS or GT3.

991R has a retractable spoiler like any other Carreras. It's there for a reason.
Check the story of early Audi TT models that initially came out without that last minute spoiler at the rear. Until one guy in Germany got killed in it. Audi engineers wanted that from the beginning as they knew the car was not stable at high speeds but the stylists won...

I was never suggesting not going without a spoiler, it would be configuring the car like the R with the retractable spoiler.

from NYT:

"...The TT Coupe made its debut to great acclaim, with particular praise for its sleek, Bauhaus-inspired design and its $31,000 base price. The car's luster dimmed in Europe, though, after an unusual number of high-speed crashes. Last fall, Audi announced a voluntary recall to fit the cars with a rear air spoiler, to help hold down the back of the car at speed, and new suspension components to improve handling.
..."
It didn't actually totally solve the problem and later Audi upgraded TTs with ESP.

I am not a car expert but as aviation engineer can tell you that a couple of little fins few centimetres each on wings can make a heavy jet fly instead of falling like a rock.
Don't underestimate aerodynamics

I'd go ducktail in a heartbeat. I personally think the wing is ineffective and dislike the rear view blockage. If you want a wing, go all in like this.
