I have a dealer that is close but I will not stray from NA until they cease to exist. When no good sports car is available with a NA then I may move to them.

The dealership servicing the Houston area is going in on 45 and appears to be approaching completion. It is on the opposite side of Lamborghini of Houston (in the vicinity anyway). I am unsure if it is associated with Indigo.

The elephant in the room with any McLaren purchase is the resale value.
I bought my 12C Spider for 2/3 of MSRP when it was just 18 mos old, with the 650S being launched. Wonderful wonderful car, incredibly built, so much neat tech, and beautiful, but seriously, who the heck with any money sense would ever buy one new??
I get it that McLaren is new to consumer cars and still learning the game, but their product strategy is completely retarded. They are brilliant engineers and car guys... they need some serious management know how in their leadership team.

You're absolutely right - there is no point buying a 650S. They are not saying it, but I don't think they will produce a single regular 650S starting calendar year 2016, until the replacement for the P11 chassis (12c/650s/675lt) arrives as a more up-market model with an anticipated $400k price point. I think by then, the competition will be the Aventador replacement, Porsche's "fefi," and we'll see what else.

I'm not sure about Macs at the moment. 650s is loosing value and the 12c is a fire sale. The LT seems to be the only smart move but if you can get one. I think the next Mac in the Super Series will be the one to get.

I have to agree with your points here. McLaren are building some great cars no question and this 570S will impact sales of the 911 TTS, Acura NSX, Lamborghini Hurracan and Audi R8 for sure in the coming year. But I also think their strategy of using basically the same tub, electronics, styling, engine and gearbox is a mistake as it is hurting resale value and consumer confidence in the product long term. This car would have been more interesting I think as a 500 hp N/A 3.8 liter V-8 with an 8500 redline with the option of a manual transmission, with a curb weight around 3000 pounds. Instead it makes you wonder why exactly are you paying another $100,000 for a 650S when this car clearly is almost as rapid.
Agreed; McLaren is progressing and developing so rapidly, and while they don't have the heritage of the competition, they don't have to adhere to the historical momentum of a given design language or a customer base who will drag their feet and complain vociferously about every new product development.

I have the LT and it is preposterously fast and engaging. Just like the Chris Harris vids. Got it about 45 days ago and can't get enough of it. Looking forward to more track days...
