I built mine as a separate unit away from the one-story house, but it could just as easily have been attached. The third photo from construction shows you where the garage is located down the hill from the house on the far side of the pool (4th photo). Far enough for man-stuff and loud cars that won't disturb the rest of the family in the house.
Wow, I love everything...

Yes, jack up one side and place them under, lower jack and do other side. You can then push the car against the wall. I have pool noodles screwed in the wall in case i get too close and bump. i then pull on the cage to move the car back out, its really very easy. On a street car you'll probably need to be able to pull on the B pillar or use a strap.
It also helps to have smooth floors with no seams. These wheels will get stuck in crack or seems.

I'm using these from Amazon, best thing i could find for the money.

I'm only running 255s but i dont see it mattering if some tire goes over the plate. My car is 2800 lbs and i can move it easily.

These saved my marriage, wife was not happy when she saw me bring it home from the shop to winter in our 2 car garage. I'm working to build a 3 car behind the current garage and until then it's on the dollies.

Thanks for the leads. It gets difficult when you/we are a car guy and have a 2 car garage.

Trust me, i'll well aware. I lived in Nashville 5 years ago and had 5 cars...while renting a house with a single car garage. The lotus lived indoors and I bought 10x20 tents for the other nice cars. Neighbors thought i was a nut i bet but i had a new M3 and old M5 to protect.

I'm meeting with an architect next week to draw up plans for a garage but we live right in Dallas and don't have a ton of space, enough for a shallow 3 car though. Old garage is being turned into a climate controller workshop for the race car and toys.

You might want to check out Garages of Texas in Plano. Just west of the Tollway, Park exit. Talk to Jack Griffin, I think there are 6 or 7 remaining out of 69.

Well, after this post, I went out bought one and had it mounted and now it's hung on the garage wall... Thanks nmnblu! This one is entitled "Last Lap" (the artist's tribute to my favorite racing movie).

The home garage is slowing coming along. Hope to have the Saber cabinets hung tomorrow.
