Hey Guys:
slightly OT, but starting construction of new home in April. I like the look of the polished concrete floor (garage) but doesn't that make it like glass, super slippery, if it gets wet or if some oil gets on the floor? I'd be interested to hear comments.

slippery as hell, i enjoy watching ppl fall

CGT shrine is incredible, love the rocks to the right.

Gah! No it's 6' narrower than planned due to property line issue....barely enough room for 2 cars plus truck...

The proof that this a garage, and not a showroom/museum or bubble wrapper

the overhead tracks and motor

quite special to compliment the masterpiece in it

We've considered doing a three-level home, where the whole first level is garage. Keeps the footprint down while giving us the space allocation we need. Anyone ever seen anything like that?

As someone in the industry, that would be pretty strange, unless you were at the beach, or if it was a townhouse in an urban area. What type of area do you live in and do you have any topo? Feel free to PM me.

Perhaps an anonymous918 type deal with underground garage taking up the entire basement level?

No site selected at this point, just exploring. Options in this area range from urban to rural. Living space in the house only needs to be around 5000+ sf, and a garage which can comfortably handle 6-8 cars would be nice. We haven't found many houses with that much garage, and they tend to have more living space than we need and not to our taste (or overpriced).

That's awesome. Is this available to purchase or did you have it done for yourself? Really love the colour scheme.

I'm no expert and this was done while I wasn't there but I believe it's basically a wrap applied to bare wall. While I had never seen it I understand the wrap was based on a Porsche print of some type but the colors may have been modified (save for caliper) to suit my space (namely the floor). The guys basically have equipment to send the image to some kind of industrial printer and then applied it (I understand in 2 pieces vertically applied and seam in middle running top to bottom). I suspect any good wrap company could do it but these guys are really graphic artists (who love and own p-cars) so that probably helped a lot in getting the print applied to the vinyl with the vibrant colors. I'm happy to get their details and PM them to you if you like.
