Here's my garage, 2 post lift for Transmission & Engine Work. Along with a Pad Lift, for Brakes & Suspension work. I've since changed the wheels on my .2 GT3 to the GT2RS Gold Wheel Color, and have done full Clear Bra, with Euro Markers.

Best Regards,
Dave

Nice place to park and work on cars. I would love to have the same.
Sadly, it's difficult to have your garage next to your home when you live in an old European town center.

Need some layout ideas. building a 40 wide x 30 deep 3 car detached garage and want a loft upstairs. Want a back 'room' to store parts, big tools and stuff to keep it out of the main garage space, plus put in a sink (probably don't need a bathroom). Obviously need space for the stairs to go to the loft. anyone got something similar that they can give me ideas with dimensions?

TIA

Are you guys running your 4-post lifts without being bolted down? Is that recommended?

I have never bolted my 4 post lift down, in fact I have the caster kit to move it around. That is one big advantage of the 4 post lifts, they do not need to be bolted down and can be moved.

i tried that on my first Bend Pak...and I just wasn’t comfortable with the lateral movement when in the highest position...not to say it wasn’t safe because Bendpak says you can... just unnerving is all. I ended up bolting it down with the lags and shims provided which makes for an excellent installation that I was confident to work around. Done the same for the three lifts after that.

All I have is a crappy phone pic of what I did under the stairs to my mezzanine. The mezzanine is 12’ over the main floor, actually 11’ to the bottom. I used HD steel floor joists so the floor loading is ‘commercial. The mezzanine is 55’ wide and 18’ deep. The stairs are 4’ wide so I put in a coffee counter with a bar fridge. I also put in a toilet under the stairs, highly recommended if your garage is detached from your house. I also put in a small ceiling mounted crane to get heaver stuff up to the mezzanine. Good luck with your project.

No bolted and my install guy (very experienced) does not recommend it.....have a garage drain so the floor is sloped.....the lift self levels with a car on it.....going no where....

we've got 2 garages at our new place. one attached and one detached. below is the detached, which is covered in oklahoma red dirt due to new construction across the alley. i need to hang some posters, etc. we keep the cayenne and trailex in the attached garage.

@naroescape We turned our original garage into a home gym, and then built this four car garage next to the house. I also needed a home office, which is above the garage (listed as unfinished attic space below). My only regret is not going tall enough for a lift.

Here's how it turned out.
