Not sure what the roof structure is like, or what is above your garage. But a friend of mine had a similar situation. He was able to work with an Engineer to design a small 'bump' in the ceiling that fit the roof line of the upper car. It was a redesign of four of the roof trusses. The work was done in-situ, with temporary supports installed while the job was underway. It was cheaper than a new garage, or a move.

Cheers,

Yup, happy. Neither are lagged to the floor. Compressed air could be a pita for some to lower, not me. The ramps they come with need 2x6 assistance to get a GT3/GT4 onto the runways. I have aluminum ramps already designed to solve that problem. They provide some nice heavy steel ramps that my back does not need. But I haz mad welding skilz.

If you can see in so can anyone else plus the sunlight heat etc.

It's a cool idea just make sure it's going to work out long term.

Almost ready for drywall!! Just waiting for fire alarm (the hard wired system with lights and sirens and pull handles and $8k worth of crap that the village mandated) to be roughed in and inspections...moving along...

Very Nice Looking. Is that attached to a living space? If so what sort of fire codes did you have to comply with? Places I have homes in, both Alberta and BC, you have to have fire rated walls and doors between the garage space and any living space.

second phase of garages just went on sale

Phase II is all sold, mostly complete, and Phase III is open! Garages are improved with a better orientation and people are doing some really creative things with floorplans.

By the way NJMP now has an onsite race shop, 47 Motorsports. Lotsa Porsche work, but also formula and sportsracer builds. I'm going to have them do a refresh of my 993 Supercup. They also have the greatest garage art ever; a sportbike they cut in half and built into a table.

Pelo,

We recently finished building a new home that we designed ourselves. Like you, I wanted to be able to see the cars from inside. I ended up building a 4 car garage but my man cave effectively sits over the first 2 bays of the garage and looks down over the second 2 bays.

I can face one way in the man cave and watch hockey and car shows and look the other way and see my cars. The ceiling over the second 2 bays is around 24' high and the plan is to get 2 lifts to raise the fun cars so that they are almost as high as the man cave for better viewing and also to be able to get 6 cars inside. I also have lots of wall space for some cool garage art. Pics below - we're still "moving in" so please excuse the mess.

My humble garage...We just built new house on a small lot so had to make the garage 3 car tandem... Made the ceilings tall enough for 3 lifts and if you look at the back right there is a window into the house where you can see the car on the lift . Just need to finish with at least one lift for now .
