After the video above it is clear that they want to improve the track in Schwedenkreutz - not just resurface it.
I wonder if it is business that drives this: I've heard that the Nordschleife has got really good economy while the GP track not so much.
Maybe it is good economy to make sure that the Nordschleife not is closed as much as it is... Lets hope I'm wrong.

This spring/summer want to take a week of and go there during the week and train a bit.
I might join the Scuderia training this season in order to learn it a bit more.

I am picking up the new car March 29th. Not many track dates available yet, but if you know of any events I can pre-register this early, clue me in!
The car needs to be back at the factory June 28th.

Regarding The Ring and opening hours we can already now guess when there will be Touristdriving.
The two big Nordschleife race events are RCN and VLN and the dates for these races are official:
A VLN Touristdriving weekend typically looks like this:
Friday: Close
Saturday: Open evening
Sunday: Open All day
An RCN Touristdriving weekend typically looks like this:

The Friday in the Easter holiday is kalled Karfreitag in Germany but in Nürburg it is Carfreitag. An extremely busy day in the region with crazy amount of traffic around the track.
Normally the track itself is rather good but it is very difficult to get to and from Nürburg this day.

Drivers are mainly under influence of endorphine after long winter. It gets scary-

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is a race track in Germany which opens to the public at times advertised on the Nurburgring website. The Germans call this touristenfahrten - literally meaning tourist driving.
The General Conditions for driving on the Nordschleife (March 2016) state that racing and speed record attempts are forbidden. Overtaking is on the left and you must keep to the right when not overtaking. The police will investigate collisions and prosecute where blame is found.
Driving the "ideal line" is no defence if you are hit from behind. The Koblenz Higher Regional Court has about 60 decisions which have one major point in common; namely that a driver failed to comply with the General Conditions in circumstances where he was obliged to keep to the right hand side and not allowed to take the "ideal line". As a rule, judges will reduce the total compensation awarded to the "ideal line" driver by 60-75%.
