Also glad that nothing bad happened when the brake pedal went to the floor before Bergwerk. I had the brake fluid changed during a Porsche Service the day before...

The Great White RS is back where it belongs - the Ring.

Had fun afternoon yesterday when I met up with GtrantG+ Mr T and Trakcar + 911rox.
Adding to that about 10 persons from my BMW dealer from my hometown was at the Touristdriving: I gave a couple of them some nice laps in the RS

The RS felt a bit nervous, jumpy, understeery an oversteery - maybe it was tense to meet the Ring again. Maybe it just was over excited being back - I don't know. Maybe it was me being re-calibrated to the 997 GT3.

Tomorrow Saturday it is time for race again, this time it is VLN2.

Our car, the 325, didn't feel so good in it's Vanos so we've have had that repaired - got the car back yesterday.

There is risk for snow during the race tomorrow. I have no idea how that will work out...

thought to myself something similar, kudos to them. Was happy to see that in spite of something challenging

looking forward to seeing the 991RS in action

Just back from drivers briefing for VLN2.
The numbers are impressive: 193 cars, More than 480(!) drivers.
27 cars in our class (V4 basically BMW 325:ers E90)

The Vanos has been repaired and we also fixed two butterfly valves(I think it is called that), one that was hang wide open and the other one got stuck from time to time.
We hope the car will be a bit stronger.

Some random picts

Nice to have the RS back again

Drivers briefing

I have used Stilos in ear headphones but they hurt as h*ll.
I hope these custom made earplugs will make life easier.

The fastest one on the Ring.
The record car.

Good luck today! It’s been alternating between sun and snow here at Spa today - probably same for you....

Thanks,

Race red flagged after 1 lap. Temperature dropped from 5°c to 0 from the formation lap to the first lap. Much snow - really bad visibility.

Now we are waiting for a restart in the sun :-)

Not sure if there will be a restart.

Got the message now. Race cancelled: more snow on its way.

Frustration - Red flag two races in a row - I hope TF open tonight

When the cancelled the race it was really warm and nice. Clear blue sky with some white clouds.
They said that there would come more snow and that it was too dangerous to drive with the snow on the side of the track.

The start was interesting: They showed us that there would be two formation laps (probably because of the cold temperatures) but in the end it was one - one could say I was took by surprise when I saw the green lamps believing we still had one formation lap to do... I was pretty p*ssed off.

Some few pictures and screen dump from the live stream:

Ready to race!

Just a nice car.

Sitting iWaiting for the delayed formation lap to take start. It starts to snow.

Just 5 min after cancellation - wonderful weather.

Red flag

Damn, that’s weather, that’s racing.
Good to see you’re still in the Christmas mood.

Some videos that show why yesterdays VLN race was the shortest in VLN history:

It changes quickly in 3 minutes:

And here is from the Live stream: (1.06.29) You see how good it is on the GP track and how bad it already is getting bad at the other end.

Sunday started off as Christmas morning and ended as good April evening.
The track dried up completely and a lot of good driving.
The RS and me are now better friends - maybe it was all in my head.

This is a nice lap where you can see how fast a 325 can be in the right hands - not my hands

The frustration of being faster then the car that actually is the faster car i apparent in this video.

Note: The Aston is marked with Permit B which indicates that the car is driven by someone new to the track (my guess).
Former F1 driver, Martin Brundle, drove a similar Aston, maybe the same in this race. So even F1-drivers can be beginners.
