More Rumors: Road Going GT3 RSR in the Works
They probably read it on the intraweb so it must be true...

Rumor: Porsche Will Build an Ultra-Hardcore 911 GT3 RSR
Think of it as a roadgoing WEC race car
"A little bit after we heard all the details about the upcoming 911 R, the manual-only, GT3-powered 911, we heard another rumor that piqued our interest: Porsche is going to build a wild, even more hardcore GT3 RS that will be a roadgoing version of the WEC car.
While some of our sources have told us that they have not heard about this car or seen it on any future 911 product plans, our source is adamant that a ridiculous version of the GT3 RS, possibly dubbed GT3 RSR, is on the way.
Supposedly the car will be a "roadgoing WEC race car," which means it'll have no creature comforts and be barely comfortable enough to get you to the track. It would be powered by the 4.0 H6 from the GT3 RS, but be lighter and even more focused, much how the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 was a more focused version of the 997 GT3 RS.
Rumor has it that Porsche already has GT3 RS's with even less sound deadening and weight that made them even faster on the track that could serve as prototypes for these RSRs.
Will it exist? We're putting this one in the maybe file, but we sure hope it comes to fruition."

How do you make this street legal in the US for instance?....there are a lot of safety regulations and more each year. I would wonder about how it would qualify for road use.........

If we were consider this rumor...
"RSR" takes the place of the former RS.
RS has objectively become too luxurious... takes the place of the former GT3. Numbers wise they're almost as common anyways.
Regular 911s? Good luck. If PAG had its way, they'd sell as many of those as Toyota would sell Camrys...
Back to reality... if it's on the interwebs it must be true. I have my deposit down for a PTS car with LWBs already... best buddy at dealer tells me I'm V200 with production date in Jan

What he said but + "dwarf". Albino Dwarf Unicorn....
PAG already have admitted through APs lips that going one up for the face-lift gen of the GT3/RS will be hard work - surely they wouldn't be making the load lighter creating an uber version in between?
Also scary news on VW decisions regarding pushing more compliant engines/catalysts to address fall out from diesel-gate. Hope that doesn't flow through product road map at PAG because if it does they will be thinking about hybrid all too soon!

aren't unicorns usually white, thus albino?
SF zoo is sad, i took max there, we were disappointed no unicorn to be seen.
we did see a centaur though.
GT3, R, RS, RSR, is acura in bed with with PAG?
Vtec, type R, JDM.
more letters more betta.
a car barely comfy enough to drive to track.... why not just get a cup car and a trailer...
i used to like raw cars.
after a few races and race cars. i really like luxobarge on street.
once you drive a race car, nothing is really raw on street any more.
that said, i'll come drool on your all's RSR and R
you arrive in sweat, i arrive fresh with AC cabin and espresso machine

I was gonna post something in the realm of this yesterday saying I wish there would be a road going GT3 Cup car, then I hesitated due to the responses I would receive saying 'just buy a cup car.' Who whole idea is to have a street legal race car that can be driven to the track.
-striped interior
-road engine in the GT3/RS DFI
-race sequential
-1250kg
-basically a cup car with plates
I welcome this GT3 RSR road car. Would be interesting to see what they come up with and demonstrates that Porsche will listen, and is committed to the "hard core" fellow.

^ with all due respect. you must have not driven a stripped race car on street. i have. full on, zero int, no window, no ac, no insulation, no radio, welded cage, full fire supression, spec miata, BSR, 996 cup on street. the first two i drove to and from races, win, and drive home. i also drove both to work in suit and tie. i didn't drive the 996cup or my GTB1 race car to work or race but i did drive them 35 miles to the shop. do it a few times, you will not want to do it.
not many ppl are as hard core or insane as i am.
i can't fit the whole family, wife and sister in my 2 seats. i stuffed my then 26 year old sister in the trunk o fmy E36/8 and drove 45 miles to dinner. insane, i know. but if i find the race car on street too hardcore. i think most wont be able to take it.
i also drive my non AC 964 when it was 100 deg F up here.
my 996 stripped can full cage, full fire suppression race car even has cup holder. so i can use it to commute to work. trust me, the is race car for street thing is a novelty.
a race clutch is not useable on street. watch the guys in paddock driving cup car. they either stall like idiots, wearout clutch or taxi at 45 mph and get chewed out for going too fast in paddock.
reducing some wt is nice however.
take out gps, radio is cool.
