For that price, it's all McLaren for me.

Spend a couple days in a 650S and it will blow you away. (The 675LT is even more incredible.)

The 991 GT3RS is a phenomenal car. It is no doubt priced below the competition for the performance it offers. Thus the price gouging game continues.

As the saying goes, "You've got to Pay, in Order to Play."

Drive safe,

Very well said - RL has become very strange!

Time to go the Ford GT route. Order RS directly from PCNA and give dealer that helps out with delivery a check for the little hassle.

This madness needs to stop.
Porsche has thought of bypassing their dealers several times in history.
This was their most 'spectacular' failure:

It briefly though of trying in it again with the 918. Ultimately they
decided to sell the 918 via their dealers and not directly from PCNA
...but it was under consideration!

Wait.....

does the "R" in 911R stand for "Raped gorilla?"

+1 - Sadly, the value has gone out the window and it's now a soap opera on car availability...

I do wonder if RL was always this strange. My first experience on RL was reading through countless pages of debate about color choices and PTS availability. It wasn't what I expected, especially in a forum folder labeled "water cooled technical discussion". Recent discussions are focused on markup and subjective debate on what an RS should be worth.

I'd love to see a deep technical article and conversation about the engine design.

Yes...we get off topic a lot and I can't say I am immune to this as I have certainly contributed in the past for doing such a thing. It seems lately most subject points (regardless of topics) get obsessively involved in "unfair dealer markups" and "why people can't get what they want", and "how dare Porsche not produce what we believe is the correct volume of cars". Happens seemingly 100 times a day, but obviously certain topic matters creep in because they raise peoples blood pressure so I understand it. When production for this generation finally stops I find most threads in this forum will start diverting back to what most of us enjoy reading

Also yes i think sharing technical items and upcoming info is a good meat and potatoes part of RL. I always get a kick out of what the cleaning ladies are telling people....but I have taken a new approach to sit quietly on side lines and watch from a distance. My persuasion skills that most of these "cleaning ladies" are full of crap falls on deaf ears.

Just wait! It will happen.

With money involved everything changes. If 997.3.8 and 4.0 would be $100-150k we would be talking about how to make them faster around tracks.
Right now the gt4 is the car to have. Some great race shops here at RL that are producing some great upgrades.

I'm guilty as charged. My 4.0 would be at the track if it would have been a $150k car and not a $500k car. I'm not complaining about that. I like money, but I like to drive as well.

So need a CF hood and lexan rear window for my depreciating 996gt3. it will save me .5 sec /lap. Oh, forgot that my lap times are all over the place.

Can't wait to get back to these threads in a couple of years. 😉

LOL...Macca you know better than that???? That will only start 5 new threads on how many they could have sold in USA, all the lost profits, and "what are they thinking" must be a bunch of idiots running Porsche now, followed by all the reasons why we can run the company better than they can! I can't wait!

The R is coming but probably so few to the US that only the 918 guys will get them. If an allocation were to come open I would have to trade my RS for it to get it. Not a chance.

I personally don't care. I am not sure why you want a GT3 without spoilers. Part of the fun of the GT cars for me is the aggressive (boy racer) look.

Besides women are impressed by big spoilers. YMMV.
