991.2

The pic of the car above appears to be a GT3 that someone converted to no wing. I believe this is a photo from awhile back and isn't new. While I can't see it clearly enough to read it, it doesn't appear to have a Porsche reg number on back either as many of the test mules have.

Unless you mean the 991.2 street 911 facelift. That doesn't make sense either seeing it's a turbo (and not NA) with specific intakes in the front and venting in the rear.

Am I missing something here??

id say it will be a 991.1 body. Special editions tend to get the outgoing parts.

Maybe we are on different pages but who said the 911R (if we are still talking on this car) is going to have a GT3 body?

Obviously nothing confirmed. Can't see it having a 991.1 street 911 body and command that price and exclusivity. My money is on the 991.1 GT3 body.

Sure isn't going to have the fugly 991.2 "turbo Jr." street 911 design. That I know for sure.

If they build this car, I think it will be the last manual GT3... they appear to have been dropping hints.
The 991.2GT3 will be PDK, especially of they build this 991R

I hate to disagree but what is so special about a 991.1 that should justify the extended production into a car that will be a 2017 model with a 991.1 body that a 991.2 won't accomplish with a NA engine? If you then say "no it will be a 2016 model".......it would be a little odd celebrating a 49th model year anniversary vs waiting a couple more months and celebrating the 50th anniversary?

Manual, no wing, weight savings, 3.8 engine, 991.1 GT3 body, what's not to like? And yes, a 2017!

I agree. I think 991.2 GT3 will be PDK only. No way they'll offer both. Plus doesn't fit into the marketing plan.

If a 4.0 liter engine, no way it is priced less than msrp on a GT3.
Closer to $200k would be my bet......

True. My guess is a 3.8 most likely thinking about the hierarchy. 3.8 in a lighter car and manual? Very attractive

Priced under RS and above GT3 and will be getting a $100K+ market adjustment!

I was referring to the 991.1 exterior design, not the specs on 911R.... that still will be perfectly good on paper in the 991.2. (elements of GT3 but not a windless GT3)

WOW....more than a RS that already has the same engine, this is getting interesting.
