TRAKCAR does ED

Thanks for the info.
I didn't consider Porsche's insurance extension rates a bargain, just convenient- so no great loss.
I also grappled with the Summer Sport vs. All Season tire choice on my ED.
I picked up in Leipzig Sep 6. Drove through Deutschland and the Swiss Alps with no drama, but the return through the Italian Dolomites and Austrian Alps in the last week of October was a bit sketch. I always seek out the high passes and avoid tunnels, so the low temps (high 30's and low 40's F) and sleet we tried to avoid was a bit nerve wracking. Even driving in warmer daylight, and checking road conditions every morning, mountain driving is totally unpredictable.
I only turned around once, on the Groβglockner Hochalpenstraβe.
A massive truck with an equally massive plow passed us, he descending and we ascending, with a meter of fresh snow on its roof.

Sharing this anyway because the purple car and the last epic ED trip had rough ending back in 2015/16.
Strange for me to post this on the 3rd anniversary of my dad's passing. I was close to him, although we lived on different continents we spoke daily and met almost every few months.
My dad dying from cancer was happening while we were doing DE in 2015 without him or us knowing it. He loved it, loved the car, supported us and helped us make it happen, he never saw the car.
I came back from DE, landed, found him sick at our home in FL, we found out the same day it was stage 4 and after 4 horrific weeks he passed away at his home overseas.
Gets a little easier, now after 3 years I can talk / type it about it
These ED trips are still special in that way, so OK, a little update and lets do it again.
Finally found a responsive person at the European Delivery Program.
I think Jamie works for the European Delivery Discouragement Department, but now all got sorted out in less than a week.
The car locked in Nov 21, build in December and I'm picking it up March 29 and dropping it back off in Zuffenhausen June 28th.
Will setup clear bra install for the 29th, wait and drive to first track event, I'll take my Vbox with me this time as well.
Should have our mechanic, van and trailer available for most of the trip, so spares etc should be more efficient this time.
I cant find much yet because the calendars are not out yet for 2019. But the Ring and Spa at least should have stuff going on then.
Last time I joined these guys and I am sure there are more to search:
www.Openpitlane.de (This website covers most track groups, if anyone knows of any that do not, please let me know, like the Porsche Clubs are quite members-only sometimes)
http://www.yokohama-motorsport.ch/
http://www.pistenclub.de
http://en.polepassion.net/sorties-circuit/calendrier-inscription.php
http://www.gedlich.com/de/
http://www.sportfahrer.ch
http://www.dftrackdays.com/
To be continued...

You may want to consider the weekend of April 13th/14th at Spa for the two day "porsche festival" run by the Porsche Francorchamps Club. It's busy, but managed pretty well. The number of cars on track is on the cusp of acceptable but the event is more about the "porsche community" than a hardcore track day weekend. Have attended the last 4 events and found it relaxed fun.

^^ Thanks Chris, signing up now!
Your link works, the one on openpitlane.de doesn't. Its the only 2019 event published there at the moment.
Oops, its still closed.
Should I sign up for passion group or expert, you think?
Hotel La Source or one of the other ones listed nicer?

Hotel La Source is the best location for sure. That's where I will be. But a Hotel in the centre of Spa can be fun too as thats where all the action is on Saturday night.

Can't wait to "tag along" for the ride... these GT cars are a b!tch to get for many including myself, but I tip my hat to Porsche and concede that their euro delivery is nothing but brilliant
Some of the best parts of these cars are the memories that we make and share with others, can't wait to do my next euro delivery with my old man again while we still can. Sorry for your loss, and I am sure he is still with you, and will be smiling with you as you are flogging the new RS in Europe
Glad it seems like you were able to push out your ED date, Jaime gave me 8 weeks and told me not a day later lol
