Hi Peter,
good to read that you, Mrs and the RS survived well the holiday!
its not that logic; if a guy like you (i mean super clever but ya - still loves the limits ) drove the hell out of it on so many "new" racetracks - through all europe.
a 1 out of 1.000 ED story!
looking forward to read some words after you drove it on Sebring.

ETA Jacksonville FL 3 days early.
Arriving Sunday, maybe I can still get it before New Years.
They say officially to allow 3 weeks till ready for pickup but I can't see needing more than a few days to unload and truck it a few hours to the dealer...

Trakcar, could you share the PDI process with us regarding if you had to buy new tires and brake pads or did they give the car a once over back at the factory or does the US dealership do it for you? Further, are there any significant mechanical differences between a Euro car and a US car?

I used 4 sets of tires, they were so-so when I dropped off the car.
I used 1 set of track pads and one set of front rotors all, new rotors and the original OEM pads went in so the car was 100% stock for re-import in the US.
The car is US spec.

You might think, but the car now has to be inspected by customs and other agencies have to release paperwork since the car was out the manufacture's hands. My Cayman S ED took a 3-4 days before it was trucked to the dealer. Our Q5 when we did ED took almost 3 weeks, due to govt shutdown at the time. I've heard of some people finding dog hair in the car from the inspections.

^^ with government involved im prepared for delays. I'm well aware of Custom and government delays in general. At least Porsche pics up the tab for the inspection costs.
Just hoping that it doesn't get trashed around with a cold engine at Customs or dealer..
Christmas could delay customs release till Jan 4th easily but still fingers crossed to go Sebring Jan 2nd!
