I should have done this. My car is a week old and has a ton of chips. No track time yet, either.

Looks like you are going to manage getting to Ricard as well as Magny Cours. Jealous! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on all of them.

Would love to but you will be heading the opposite direction as me. This is a trip with my wife for our 10-year anniversary so I am balancing car stuff with stuff she wants to do. We are going to stay mostly in Germany, probably dip over to Spa and definitely over to Prague. I'll PM you my number when we get over there and see if we can meet up for at least a beer.

Did you find a paint protection installer?

Peter, will the purple monster be making an appearance at winterfest or PCA48?

OMG Noooooo.... 09-22-2015 10:45 AM

Don't get into any of this type of action....

Thanks everyone, boarding in a couple of hours :-)
Lets see how all this craziness is going to unfold!

Haven't had time to studied the Ring enough, downloaded Kobalts video from Youtube onto laptop. Last chance on the plane..
Kobalt has lapped much faster than this, but this is a great study line and speed to learn from:

PBI airport studying hard.
Never checked in so much luggage, 2 helmets Hans bags and 5 week of clothes.
Sorry for the mega size photo, can't fix it from IPhone

race7117 09-22-2015 02:44 PM

Yea I've been doing the math for my luggage, No trailer for me! With the seat backs fixed and the shoulder area so wide I found that the easiest way to get luggage into the back was to pull one seat all the way forward and the other all the way back that way I could get a duffle bag at least into the back seat. The Frunk is only worth one bag, 2 dudes with helmets and gear, cameras etc.......it's going to be interesting.

TRAKCAR 09-22-2015 02:51 PM

How does it help to leave one seat back?

Now imagine one dude being wife....
Fingers crossed.

race7117 09-22-2015 03:22 PM

So with both seats back the upper shoulder bolster is so wide it blocks feeding bags into the back. By shifting one seat forward in opens the space between the shoulder bolsters and allows for a larger bag to get through. I spent some time on this on a car at my dealership. Also lowering the seat to it's lowest setting also helps to increase space from seat to roof. I know I'm crazy but I knew it would be an issue. I just broke up with my girlfriend so my buddy from high school is picking up the spare seat!

TRAKCAR 09-22-2015 03:41 PM

Got it I think, so there is a bigger space in between the seats, with one forward and one backward than there is between the seat shoved all the way forward and the B pillar.

Drivers seat all the way back and tilted up, passenger seat all the way forward, tilted forward (down).

race7117 09-22-2015 03:53 PM

Yea but both seats should be as low as possible for clearance between the roof. The space between the B pillar and the seat back with seat all the way forward is comical much more room between the seats themselves. I advise no hard luggage in the back, even standard carry on size luggage. If it's rigid it will be tough to get back there with out scratching some stuff. A garment back should be no problem or a backpack should be ok as well.
I'm taking the the custom rimowa porsche XL luggage 23x15x15 for the Frunk. A helmet bag and a backpack. My co driver will have 2 backpacks and helmet. we shall see!
