Excellent info in this thread!

Peter, the grind is there to define fun just as dark is there to define light and down is there to define up. All fun is no fun.

Maybe, for the Ring a slower car would be just as fun, kinda. But pricing out a GT3, it’s much cheaper just to ship your own car.

If a few of you get together for a driving tour of the UK and Europe and you all ship your cars together to the UK as a group, it should not cost too much.

There are are so many tracks over here and the distances are literally just a few hours between tracks.

Track days on Silverstone and Spa sell out quickly, however, with good planning you could have a brilliant Tour Event.

I also wish to add that this Thread is excellent, it was truly great to meet you Peter and your lovely wife here on the Isle of Man.
Ill help out the others with the logistics and get something started early so we can book early.
Wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed IOM!! Last night we watched reruns of the TT, very cool to recognize all the places we have been to.

Glad you like it, so you like ice cream as well then

I get that. It’s like having your own jet, fueled up waiting down the road and being too lazy to come off the couch..
Must be a terrible feeling, hahaha

Yes I was trying to do the math - ship vs rent a car. For me its a long way to ship from NZ and depends on how big a driving trip and how many trackdays. Clearly a bit more research to do, and unfortunately I can't rely on your logistics learnings as much as others from USA Peter.

If you do t know the Ring rent a low power car.

If you know the Ring rent a low powered car and enjoy passing GT3'a who doesn't.

Renting makes it easy: find hotel, get airline ticket, book Avis rental car at airport go to Nürburg. Check in, check out track toy- drive.

Like Alexcio said, meant to be to get a plate that indicates your BTG Nurburgring target

Will start working on shipping cost for the car there and back soon to plan next summer haha.

Surprised you could get that plate past bio security. Looks like some mutant strain emerging.
I bet the bikers over on Mooty's Dolomites bike trip will have to scrub bikes and inspect tyres.

Maybe a strange question in this thread, but how was the temporary German plate attached...?

Very wise words here as the NRing is not only a tough track to learn but you have to avoid others who try too hard on this unforgiving track.
Personally I driven many many laps and taken part in 5 Scuderia Hanseats, every time I visit there’s always something different.... so much drama but equally terrific fun.
Spa is possibly my favorite track I’ve ever driven and only 1 hours drive from the NRing.

Flying in from the States or different parts of the World to drive these 2 very iconic yet very different tracks must be a tick on every petrolheads bucket list, personally I’d hire a small but balanced rear wheel drive car like a BMW 1,2 or 3 series, go do the Scuderia Hanseat Spring Training in a hire car, then head over the boarder to Spa and try catch a UK based 2 day event. Here I’d hire a small race car and have fun from RSR ( Ron Simmons Racing )

Peter, what’s with asking if I like ice cream ? Lol I am nervous to admit either way now 😂

Yes, just Velcro glued to the front bumper, Signes speed tested it at and insane 308Kph LOL. I never got that fast, nor would it go that fast with the wing up...
Maybe a missed opportunity.

Bad attempt on humor, I posted a picture of ice cream a few posts back, as that was my typical late lunch to fortify myself for Tourist Fahrten at the Ring LOL.
Everyone likes ice cream.

So, I will have two RS when Lizard arrives.
Been thinking about what plate to put on each..

Have TRAKCAR and TRAKKAR
But today I got my duplicate TRAKCAR plate in as part of registration renewal courtesy State of Florida.

Probably illegal, but both RS with same plate works for me

Carry both FL registrations in the lizard, you lost the new plate.

What up, Peter?! Great to meet you at factory and chatting. Empathizing 1000% with the painful wait. I need to get on plates for mine as well. Thinking "BIG BLAU" or similar lol.

Big Blau would suit fine!!

Hoping my car gets in mid August, add roll bar and Harness, brakes and go Sebring :-)

Its not the Ring, it’s only SebRing ....
