Val de Vienne. The track no one ever heard of.
A great track, not just the circuit but the facilities are very nice.
What a nice surprise. Had 4 good sessions today, all dry, lots of fun with the Porsche Club.
But it looks like rain, swapped wheels side to side so if it indeed rains all day I may have enough tires left to do two days Spa next week.
If Spa is dry and there are Michelin R tires available, I will try them because Spa is a great track to gauge the performance difference.
I ran a ton of 1.45’s today but no better. Tires are everything on this technical track and I had to start on 23PSI, warm them up for 3 laps, then graining 2 laps before they were in their prime for just a few laps and then they shot up to 35/36, losing some grip.
Fun, difficult track that makes you focus, you really have to constantly stay way ahead of the car and small mistakes, cost a lot.
Very hard to start braking just so, little too late and your in the gravel box (dozen or more in the last two days) but if you leave a little braking it costs a few tenths quickly. If you love trail braking the crap out of tightening radius’ corners, this is your track.
Didnt go much faster today but I had loads of sideways fun!

What sort of times were the fastest guys doing Pete? How much more was there to be found in an RS in your opinion?
Sounds like you had an amazing time. The track layout looked really good in the vid you posted
Ps. I know a great tyre shop near spa if you need another set?

It will probably be in September when we rent Sebring for a day.
Someone has to do it. Too many tracks, not enough days in a life time.
Thanks
