Default Suggestion on purchasing GT3

Just wanted to ask for some opinions from you all.

I'm in the market for one right now, I actually waiting for an allocation at my local dealer, they want 20k market adjustment for a future allocation.

I know there's been mark ups on them for some time.
Any one know how the market is now on the preown? Since people are getting their RS.

I'm a noob at this

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't personally pay 20K over sticker for an allocation, but that's just me.

In regards to the preowned market, i would just start searching whats out there. There are about 15-20 listed on eBay, but there are other places to look. I think it will depend on the color and options (like LWB) you want. White and black seem to be the most abundant but there are other colors out there. Also, model year will make a difference. So people don't want a '14 because of the engine issue. You'll have to decide whether that matters to you or not.

Used prices seem to be all over the place too. I see some listed above msrp and some below. I think year, color, options, and usage all effect the price but I haven't been able to get a good read at what they are actually going for. I can see what people are asking, but not necessarily what their getting. As someone currently trying to sell their GT3, figuring out a good, fair price has been challenging.

The GT3 is an amazing car. If i were you I would start by deciding what's really important to you in regards to specs and then be open from there. If you could find a used one you like and save $20k, I would say that's a win.

I'm in the same boat as you. Dealers are asking crazy money over msrp for many of the cars on the used market but they are willing to negotiate so don't let the published price scare you off. Hopefully you want white or black and you'll have a ton of options. Other colors, not so much.

I had a dealer off me a '16 allocation for 30K over. I literally laughed at him on the phone and asked if he was kidding.

Before I owned a 991 GT3 I would have said "no" to paying over sticker. After having the car for some time now it's really hooked me. If my car were to be wrecked or stolen I might consider negotiating on the $20k over to get one of the last build slots. I like it that much.

Warrens car is awesome

I want white, sapphire blue, or agate grey with LWB and steel brakes instead. Ones in finding are asking 10k over msrp for 5k + miles lol.

The more particular you are about the GT3 you want, the more willing you have to pay -- pay either a premium (for a used car) or a dealer markup.

Just sort of the way the world works, unfortunately.

Unless you have to have the car now, I would work with your dealer of choice to get an allocation of the 991.2 GT3 at MSRP, and get it in writing. While not bullet-proof, at least you have something to waive to the BBB in case your dealer reneges.

991.2 GT3 allocations should be doled out to dealers around Spring 2016, with deliveries sometime in late summer/early fall.

Good luck.

I think you are a year early on that. I'd expect to see them in early 2017. But who knows!
