at least we live in the time when there is still a choice in transmission, or in driving.
many years from now our offsprings will not know how to drive at all as all cars will be self driven.

The thought that people are working on cars that drive themselves scares me. Computers fail. I don't believe they can be made 100% reliable. I also don't believe they can make them impossible to hack. Bad people and terrorists will find a way.

I'm interested in why you think there won't be a 991.2 GT3 (not just because I have a deposit on a 991.2 GT3 RS).

They'd be stupid to not make both a GT3, RS, GT4, and GT2 in the .2 generation. There's plenty of demand out there ready to buy.

Three Wheelin'
New rules for GT3 means turbo. If anyone thinks a PDK is bad you should try a CVT. I did
The article makes it sound like Porsche may be tempted to abandon its GT philosophy (as fast as possible) in favor of a more consumer friendly one (have anything you want as long as you are willingly to pay for it). Sounds very unGerman to me.

Nordschleife Master
I went to a kickoff event. Thing looks like something from a dr Seuss book

Drifting
The best engineers in the company are working on electric vehicles and then turbos. A long way after come the Motorsports street cars, which have a captive audience.

So all you people that are in favor of a PDK, don't mind your left foot doing nothing while driving? To me this is one small step in the direction of self driving cars. whats the next step? automated braking? Then we would be down to two pedals and 30% less driver involvement.
But hey, its faster and thats all that matters, right?
I would take turbo with manual box over n/a with PDK. A true sports car should have 3 pedals.
It is also somewhat insulting that Porsche has abandoned the "lets give the public the race stuff" these days. If this was the case (as it used to be), we should get a semi-sequential box, just like the GT3 cup cars, but streetable. Sort of a PDK with a clutch pedal that could be switched into use or switched off, but at least you could simulate being in a true race car. Cup cars have 3 pedals, are we only capable of operating 2?

I'll bet anyone that the .2 GT3 will be NA and PDK. Winnings go to a charity so it's a win-win. Any takers???

yes it's three pedals but u only use it to roll once it goes u do not use clutch again bith up and down shift. white the mechanism
is different the operation interface is pretty
much PDK like.
