Default Cage and Belts

Just reaching out to see what fellow R-listers have paid to have a cage and belts installed. Got quoted $6500 installed (OTD) for a GMG world challenge cage (flat black) and schroth belts (red). Thanks.

The two cages from GMG are $2400 and $2600 plus shipping. Belts from Schroth that are GT3 Specific are $549 retail. Install shouldn't be more than $800-1000. This is all full retail. $6500 is way too much.

UT911GTS,

Unless it is a 6 point cage, that is way too much. For example our BBi Autosport 991 GT3 StreetCup Cage is $2495 + shipping and labor installation time is 6 hours.

Independent shop labor rates varies from $120 to $150 per hour so the fair price to pay for installation will roughly fall between $700 to $900.

Harnesses and seat installation is additional and varies quite a bit.

This is what they send me.

Here is the price breakdown. We can skip the belts and seat base for the passenger side to keep the cost down.

GMG Roll Bar $2595
Schroth GT3 belts $1098
GMG seat base $1190
Shipping $250
Labor $1610

Total $6743

Thoughts?

OK so thats a bar, not a cage. All those prices seem reasonable except the base seems a bit high but what do I know?

Also, were you shipping to a shop of your choosing to have it installed? There is no shipping charge if you are doing the labor with us? Please feel free to give me a call (714) 432 1582

There seems to be a slight miscommunication in this topic ..

The original post states that the quote price is for roll bar and belts installed, then later added in seat bases, and extra labor for racing seat installation.

Just to clarify this labor quote was done by another shop and not from GMG and we have no control over what other places may charge on labor and such.

Just a quick clarification for anyone who may be wondering and we are looking forward to seeing the end result of your car turns out with our products

Sorry for the confusion...new to all this stuff (motorcycle guy)! This quote was from a local independent shop for the parts and labor. Dominic has reached out to me and help me better understand how I should spec these safety items based on my needs. Thanks guys!

G, no problem at all, just feel free to reach out to us if you need any other further clarification. Dom, myself and the entire team at GMG are always willing to help.
And that's why I have my email in my signature, so I am always reachable when an RL'er has a question.

Cheers,
