Default The 991 GT3: The aesthetic apex of the GT3 breed thus far?

Having owned each variant of the GT3 fleet to date; it came to me as I was admiring the graceful lines of the 991 version, how It has become an amalgamation of each of its predecessors; honoring them without insulting them, but making advances in a functional sense that are appreciable and understandable.

It possesses a finess and ultimate flow of design characteristics which are not only congruent with, but delicately surpasses its brethren without departing from the original in overal spirit from all angle vantage points visually.

I dare say that the 991 RS version has taken a vast departure from the fold, what with its relatively unflattering abrupt interruptions of lines and unnecessary inclusion of vents and perforations. An interesting and athletic looking creature it is; yet not on par with its unmolested sibling in an aesthetic sense.

Perhaps I will see the RS in a different light in the future, but I hold that the 991 GT3 is the visual pinnacle IMHO.

Compared to the RS the GT3 is definitely the "beauty" ...

... with the RS being the "beast".

I completely agree. I'm in the design industry, and the overall execution of the 991 GT3 is remarkable. While I would love to own an RS, the GT3 is a much more pleasing execution of automotive design to the eye. To the foot, hands and butt, I'm sure the RS takes the lead.

The stretch wheelbase of the 991 esthetically ruined the the car in profile. It looks like a 911 tortured on the rack.

In the flesh, the 991 GT3 looks fabulous, especially in the correct color (white). RS looks just as good, but bigger and meaner - some real race car vibe.

I've always liked the 911...but never would have bought one due to the design until the 991. I think the proportions, lines and overall design cues are extremely pleasing the eye.

Agree in that of the GT3 generations, the 991 looks the best by far. Although a blast to drive I always thought the 996 and 997 generations didn't look like the designed flowed. Both looked a bit aftermarket to me. However, now with the 991 GT3, form and function are satisfied as it looks great and laps very fast.

My GR GT3 honestly looks like it fits as an exotic car next to Ferrari or Lamborghini

In contrast, for base 911s I admire the classic designs. I prefer the lines of a 993 or 997 C2S over a 991 C2S.

I have to go with Leif, ipse, Nick and others. Since we're talking aesthetics, not maximum performance, then the 991 GT3 is the best looking GT car so far, current RS included, IMHO. And Drifting is right; this car wears GR very well...

Default Two (2) Available 2016 911 GT3s

Good morning…in hopes of finding homes for two 2016 911 GT3s, I am coming here for some help. I have included some info below, but I would be happy to provide more details to anyone that is interested.

It would be really nice for these GT3s to go to someone that will truly appreciate them. They can be sold separately or together. Both will arrive in the U.S. in November. If interested, please call (609)945-1500 and ask for Michael.

Thank you!

GT3 much better lines than the RS and will go down as one of the best all around, bar none.

Best looking RS for me so far is still the '73 RS, everything else is just uglier to varying degrees.

I really didn't like the look of the GT3, prefer the 991 RS myself - but Targa is still the looker of the 991.
