Default Minor mishap On Friday at Palmer

Learned a lesson from this, take a look at the lower left of the video starting at 0:15. Might be good to check the tightness of the headlights once in a while.. Doh!

This happened to a 991 TTS owner, too.

Unbelievable.

Glad nothing worse happened.

Sounds like a warranty repair to me! Porsche needs to deliver the car with the headlights well attached so you can drive it.

Wow never seen that before...by the way, take the camera off of auto exposure ....you won't have that dark flickering when the light changes going around the track. Palmer looks fun.

The one from the turbo had headlights removed for film install and installer didn't know to double click tighten the screws when reinstalling. Oops!

Best setup for light balance for in-car setup is to use the spot-meter setting. This will keep the camera from over/under exposing in the changing light due to the dim interior & bright exterior

I had gotten a vinyl wrap back in January so I can't pinpoint the cause.

This is a racekeeper system. I'll look for the setting. Thanks.

He was actually very good, got me to push my boundaries. Just a little overzealous. No worries.

Thats what I had done - although it was back in January and I've done about 5K miles and track days since, not sure why it didn't pop out earlier. The vinyl guy brings in a certified Porsche body guy to do all that work, not sure why they wouldn't know.

I'll look for the settings in the racekeeper config. Thanks.

I'll probably end up making an ins. claim for it, I'm told the unit runs about $2500

Sorry this happened. Looks like a fun track, unlike the flat ugly tracks in TX (except perhaps COTA).

Thanks for posting this- i will specifically ask future installers about double-click tightening the headlights. Palmer is great fun.

I saw the same thing happen to another 991 GT3 earlier this year at VIR. The car is awesome ... except when it's not.

Palmer is a great track, already a contender for being my favorite track. About a 6-hour drive for me, but I expect to be back up there in October.

Jeff - it's Noël. Great meeting you in person at Palmer. Do you remember what time or lap or even session that happened in? I was right behind you and probably captured it all on video as I dodged your light.
