OT: 991.2 carrera released
Just released..
3.0 L for both S and non-S models, with 420hp and 370hp respectively.. Option of RWS available. Redline @7500rpm which is not bad..
Many new features, sport pasm button that lowers the car by 1cm.. Etc..
Only thing intriguing me is the exhaust.. It's on the sides in some pics, and in the middle in others (as seen on the mules) on both S and non-S models.. Any explanation?

They have loaded the cars with lots of additional features to soften the negative reaction to the turbocharged engines. I don't care much for the rear lights and the vertical louvers. I like the 991 version better. However I like the fact they added these features:
1- upgraded the rear tire size to 305mm from 295
2- the optional rear wheel steering
3- they lowered the car but now offering option lifting system like GT3
4- they also added an individual custom selection mode to the sport & sport + modes
5- optional lane change system
6- the upgraded PCM & navigation with interactive multi gesture screen where you can write on the screen, and also nav has google earth& street view and dynamic traffic info, also adding Appleplay is a big plus.
7- of course the added HP & torque and especially at low rpm. Not sure about the sport response button and may be it varies the boost to give you better launches.
They really packed lots of added features, but it will all depend on how the review of this new engine on street & track, but if it is all good, this will be a great car. Mark

The different exhaust setups probably break down like this:
Carrera = Two rectangles at the far ends of the bumpers
Carrera S = Two pods of two pipes at the far ends of the bumpers
The above configurations are like the 991.1
PSE = Two round pipes that are closer together, but not as close as the GT3/981 setup.

So I've not even collected the just-released RS and a new model-look is up... Hello Toyota!
918 owners gonna be pissed, wheel is universal on all models now..
Bigger screen is the biggest plus!
I smell bolt-on tuning and an easy 500hp on those engines! However torque kick is not gonna favor handling for the track for those who tune..
To keep the post on-topic, I'm so wondering what the next GT3 & RS are gonna be like.. Turbo mehhhhhh...

I like the new display on the PCM.
I said I didn't like the vertical louvers in the hatch a month ago, still don't
Big question I didn't see any answer to:
At 3.0L, IS IT TURBO???
