From the Porsche website regarding the new quasi-center exhaust: The design of the single tailpipes in stainless steel is new. They are designed as a twin-branch system in the S models. The central tailpipes with optional sport exhaust system are based on the 911 GT3. Form, function and sound are combined

Looks good. Gap between Carrera S and GT3 just got narrower. And I suspect the Carrera S will feel more muscular for most road driving. But for mainly track use, Porsche GT car is still a must.

Big question I didn't see any answer to:

At 3.0L, IS IT TURBO???
Jalopnik says it is a turbo:

This from the porsche.de site:
Neue Biturbo-Motoren für mehr Leistung, deutlich mehr Drehmoment, hohes Drehvermögen und weniger Verbrauch.

Well Porsche does know how to do turbo they've been doing it for a few years. These are like mini gt2. Well that's one way to think about it... Tuning industry will go nuts with these.

Good point. Maybe next GT3 will essentially be the next GT2 (though AP has said GT cars will stay NA as far as he can foresee).

I can't tell if the PCM is a "dummy" unit but it looks much larger and apple-esque.

As for the exterior, I think it looks great.

New PCM has multi touch according to the press release. It's larger and has a new UI.

Aftermarket guys might make a killing on engine covers... .1 > .2.

Love how it looks with the exception of those stupid vertical bars on the decklid. Maybe the aftermarket will do a horizontal upgrade that incorporates a small scoop on the trailing edge for the air inlet feeding the turbos. Also, a 7,500 RPM redline is quite impressive! Hopefully they found a way to let the car also have a decent exhaust note despite being turbocharged. Can't wait for the reviews to start coming in. Being turbo'd like others have said, it's gonna be an extremely popular car to mod!

Vertical louvres sort of offend my eyes.

both.
And PDK manual mode with central shifter now is reversed so it's same direction as gt3. Like the sport exhaust and rws, Gt3 inspired features but not na engine! Irony.

For a DD the added torque would be great. I might be the only one, but I love the look of the rear deck lid louvers.

As for the GT cars:
