I've been following the used market, and quite a few have hit over the last 30-40 days. Noticed them not moving quickly when over sticker. I think the "over sticker" days are over. Seems like new ones listed daily.
Seen them sell at around sticker with 1K or less miles over the last month (mint and garage queens). Anything over 3K miles and over will be selling under sticker. I see the market softening into September and beyond.
I think there are some very unrealistic expectations with what some think the market is paying. Drive it for 5K and expect to recoup your sales tax, PPF, and clear side marker costs?? Ummmm...
Not trying to bash on the GT3. I love the GT3, just have noticed a certain frenzy with them which I think has changed over the last couple months with RS's showing up and the "impulse" buyers who bought and now selling.
Full disclosure, I own a C2S, but love all 911's and some great posts on this board.
I just don't see many on the sidelines waiting to buy one still unless fairly discounted. I think most who want one, have one at current prices.
market price is what people are willing to pay. The GT3 is a very low production car. Less than 2000 for North America. As long as demand is there for the cars, prices are revolving around MSRP.
PTS cars will command a premium.

Spot on! A low optioned bucket GT3 is the best case scenario.
A GT3 optioned like a Turbo S will depreciate a lot more.
People have to realize, they are limited production because they don't have mass market appeal. It's a niche buyer. If Porsche thought they could sell 5,000 of them in the USA, they'd make them. If they dumped even 500 of them on dealers tomorrow, they wouldn't sell over sticker. They'd be discounted.
They have the numbers tight enough to cause a frenzy, which is exactly what they want, ex: RS.
My MSRP with buckets is $140k and I know I could sell my car in a heartbeat for $140k-$145k. But I bought this car to hold me over until I got the 991 RS and/or a .2 GT3 so no selling for me.
Just a note here as I feel some of the original comments stem from my For Sale GT3 posting...
Primarily, I'm basing my pricing off of how others are valuing their cars in the market. If there's a GT3 selling w/out buckets or w/out lift, or w/out PCCB (I get that the diehard track junkies may prefer steel...) and that car is going for 170k.... my car w/ 15k of "key" options really isn't outrageously priced at 175k.
Additionally, I have 10k worth of aftermarket options that more then anything, remove the headache from another buyer. I could remove 80% of them and drop my price by 5k and reinstall these items in my inbound RS and very well may do so - that said, they are an added cherry for the right buyer.

Lastly, my car stickered at 164. I didnt think I was going to get an RS and as such planned to hold my car for a long time. It's a high option car at an MSRP of 164k. All things considered, I really don't think 175k is a "outrageous" ask considering what dealers are marking cars up for.
And yes - I did drive my car. 6700 miles on the clock. The fact that cars are for sale w/out even reaching the break in mileage to me defeats the purpose of the car in the first place.
I'm naive, i'm ignorant - no doubt. That said, at 175k for a pristine car, somebody is walking away a happy customer!

Yup, like with PCCB, sport chrono, dedicated stitching, etc....
I agree that 'dedicated' stitching is over-the-top and totally unnecessary. It follows you everywhere, its devotion often bordering on
the clingy & overly dependent!
'Deviated' stitching, on the other hand, can be a very reasonable option for many. And it often helps with a resale by creating a more
attractive cabin environment in an otherwise dark & spartan gt3 interior. But that is a personal opinion - my dedicated 'dos centavos' -
to this otherwise 'exclusive' conversation!
