'Deviated' stitching, on the other hand, can be a very reasonable option for many. And it often helps with a resale by creating a more
attractive cabin environment in an otherwise dark & spartan gt3 interior. But that is a personal opinion - my dedicated 'dos centavos' -

Currently 40 used for sale on cars.com

I've been following the used market, and quite a few have hit over the last 30-40 days. Noticed them not moving quickly when over sticker. I think the "over sticker" days are over. Seems like new ones listed daily.

Seen them sell at around sticker with 1K or less miles over the last month (mint and garage queens). Anything over 3K miles and over will be selling under sticker. I see the market softening into September and beyond.

I think there are some very unrealistic expectations with what some think the market is paying. Drive it for 5K and expect to recoup your sales tax, PPF, and clear side marker costs?? Ummmm...

Not trying to bash on the GT3. I love the GT3, just have noticed a certain frenzy with them which I think has changed over the last couple months with RS's showing up and the "impulse" buyers who bought and now selling.

Full disclosure, I own a C2S, but love all 911's and some great posts on this board.

I just don't see many on the sidelines waiting to buy one still unless fairly discounted. I think most who want one, have one at current prices.

Just making observations, don't beat up on me!
I heard that bubble pop about two months ago. Now that the RS has hit the shores you will see a considerable cooling off on the value of the GT3. If possible never buy from dealer unless you already have a good relationship with them and avoid Flipper's which are easy to spot in how much they charge and sometimes the wording they use. Often like adding Standard Feature's on the ordered option's list.

I could eat my words, but I think once the GT3-RS transfers are over and they all become unavailable again, the values will continue to remain strong and still possibly a few K over MSRP.

A LOT of the cars that are listed on cars.com have hefty premiums attached. Cars that are listing within 5k of sticker seem to still fly out of the dealer. Nearly if not all 16s are sold out as well. The only ones that may finally drop to normal levels will be the 14s IMHO.

Another " value thread ". I love these! It's like the stock market. Any tips?
How about if I pick up a low mileage at MSRP and bubble wrap it for 20 years. Will I be able to get 100K over?

Actually meant to look at "current" pricing and "recent" sales. The GT3 market has been changing quite a bit over the last 2 months and has cooled off a bit. A few sold cars by private owners have sold at or just under MSRP with mileage under 1,500K or so.

What happens in the future? Who knows. I expect a further decline with RS's hitting and in the distant future, 991.2's. Where is bottom? Not sure.

The whole car "bubble" will follow the stock market. They will fall together.

I wouldn't recommend bubble wrap... it may stain the paint

Noticed you said in OP you don't own a GT3. Out of curiosity are you looking to actually buy one and that's why you follow them so closely?

Local dealer here claims to have sold a '15 with low miles, medium options (sofas) for more than MSRP ($10-20k, can't recall the exact number.) I agree there seem to be a lot of cars out there but still small number overall. I'm sure the market will soften going into the fall / winter. Real impact will be to see what is announced for the 991.2 GT3.

No, not looking to buy one anytime soon. Content with my current car for now. Suits my current life better. I always browse the ads and like looking at cars and following the market. Mostly with 991 S's/GTS's, but with a relatively low amount of GT3's out there for sale (I'd say less than 100), it's easy to follow. Plus it's more interesting how it's changing. The street 991's are very predictable in depreciation.

The limited models are more market and "frenzy" driven which lead to quicker turnover too.

It's quite fascinating how Porsche has the pulse on the demand so well in order to create this artificially created "hard to get" marketers dream for the GT models. There is a lot of thought put into it. They have created this situation.

There's a local dealer where I'm at that had one with less than 1k miles listed at 22k over MSRP. They recently lowered it to 16k over MSRP. Still waiting for it to drop hopefully.

I don't think the value has cooled off at all. I took my 2014 GT3 ($150K msrp). I got a trade in value of $135K in February with 2,000 miles and exactly the same amount with 2,500 miles two weeks ago from the same dealer. And I think with some negotiation, they probably would have given me $140K.

Also, if you look at manheim auction, there were 3 transactions this year.
03-03-15 sold for $149K with 1,291 miles
06-04-15 sold for $152K with 12,152 miles
07-30-15 sold for $147K with 3,832 miles.

Some of you guys are saying the GT3 RS is hurting the GT3 value. But I think it's doing the opposite. It's creating more demand for GT3s because all the people who want the GT3 RS that can't get one will want the normal GT3.
