Has anyone used a Hans or similar device without racing bucket seats and roll (or harness) bar? I borrowed one to use at the Glen and it felt fine, but I am concerned about its effectiveness - if it is ever required.

I have my old 996 GT3 racing buckets, but don't want to swap them for my 18 way seats and also don't want to install a roll bar.

It's worthless without the harness straps holding it on both sides

As long as you have both shoulder belts you can use HANS

You can change out a seat in less than an hour. Afterwards you'll need to get the code reset. One of the GMG bars doesn't take up much space and is fairly user friendly.

Some have used the Safety Slolutions R3 device which might offer a bit of protection with 6 points.

Some hybrid devices exist, but I have no idea about the effectiveness. Probably less than a "real" setup, but also better than nothing...
