Q: Does anyone on this thread know of a company or person that makes Pepita / houndstooth inserts for 18-way or 4-way seats - not LWBs?
I see that a company is selling pepita inserts aftermarket for the LWBs here: http://shop.exclusiveoption.com/LWB-...LWBINSERTH.htm ($2,500), but they don't have 18-ways listed.

Hey Alex, your inserts go very nicely with the GT Silver & “classic” interior combo. I am planning new inserts on my Spyder (Voodoo)
with indoor/outdoor high-end fabric I found online... can’t wait to try it! I’ll post pics when completed.
Cheers,
Claudio

After a week or so of playing around with covering these inserts, I am up to about ten fabric selections (including camo though it is woodlands and needs to be aquatic to tie into the GBM paint). Covered the passenger seat base with a pattern that includes a bit of yellow to try and match the PCCBs. I even ironed on a backing to this fabric and stitched the seam line across the middle to make it more like the factory set. This did double the cost of materials and made the process take much longer so I doubt I will pad the next set. I'm not designing these to last forever, just change up the look as the mood strikes.
To the general public, hey are all just fabric covered seats, except Star Wars and everyone loves the Star Wars set.

Am I missing something or are these just some fabric covered foam cut to the right shape with some velcro on the back?
Like... get some upholstery foam... cut it to fit... glue fabric to it and fold the edges, and sew a couple lines across it. Glue velcro to the back and stick them in place.
Since I know how to use spray glue and a sewing machine, can I make these myself for like $20 in materials?
I'm not trying to be facetious here. I'm legitimately asking if there's more to these. Is there some hard backing or frame or something involved? Can you post some pics of them removed from the seats?

Wild Weasel- you are making it harder than it is. The stock covers are simply velcro'd on. Remove them carefully so as to not risk tearing the foam (this is especially true along the trough of the seat section as there is hook/loop attachments running at the base of the trough. Go easy and peek in along the side.
Go to a hobby store and grab a roll of velcro that is hook side on one side and adhesive on other.
Imagine where the factory velcro was attached on the factory foam pieces and attach the hook sides; stretch whatever fabric you choose over the foam and stick it to the adhesive side. Make adjustments as necessary.
If you use a "grained" pattern such as houndstooth (repeating only left and right or up and down, you need 3 yards for both seats (4 cushions). If it is a random pattern or one that repeats symmetrically in both directions, you can get by with 2 yards (assuming a 42" width which appears to be standard).
