991 gt3...with a manual?!
So work is overrated and I got an idea...there is big talk that these may be the last of the glorious NA 9k rpm gt3 911s. Does that mean there may be a market, once these cars are out of warrantee and have pdk failures, to do some sort of really high end boutique manual transmission swap? Guard or someone similar? I feel like a package like that might be really cool. If it got the acclaim similar to something like a "jake raby" 4.0 it might be a value adder and worth it to keep these beautiful cars on the road. Just tossing this out there to the think tank as I have basically no practical knowledge of the subject.

I wonder what the donor transmission would be? 997 GT3? It'd be an extremely complicated proposition, electrically speaking.

Would a car with manual transmission already utilized with dfi motor work best ? Maybe 991 gts transmission donor? Or cayman gt4? 997.2 s? It Just seems like these gt3s are so special, someone could find a way to make it happen and make a buck at the same time.

You'd think the GTS would use a transmission that would work in the GT3. I am curious as to how the electronics of the PDK influence the operation of the traction control and other systems, if at all. I wonder how much of the special nature of the 991 GT3 would be lost with a manual? I wonder how much different the car would be from a 997.2 GT3/4.0 with a manual.

My first car was a 2004 Land Cruiser GXR acquired at the age of sixteen. It was an automatic that I converted a year later to a manual. The conversion cost $3000 and took a couple of days...

Until the 991 gt3 comes in a manual, I'm looking to jump into this. Anyone have history on it?

yes, but aside from that, wasn't there talk that existing GT3's would potentially offer a manual option, before switching to a refreshed platform? Did I dream this sh*t?
