Is it normal or okay for Center lock hub to separate?
Hi guys, on one of my CL's when loosening it separates and I have to put the metal ring back in, compress, and marry to the two pieces. It is not too troublesome, but only one does it. Just checking if anyone experiences this, or if I should be concerned. It happened on my first change out and I had no issues. I just did a swap and it did again so just checking.
Thank you
Thank you

I had two like that the first time I removed the wheels. I've only had them off once since then and all of them we're ok.

I've had my wheels off several times and have not had the central bolt pieces come apart.
The cone ring is held in place in the wheel bolt with a circlip that engages a groove in the bolt. It's supposed to take a firm rap of the bolt, threads down, on a piece of wood to disengage those inner parts. Maybe your circlip on that one wheel is deformed or weak, or maybe it's not engaging the groove properly.
I don't know if it's a "problem" per se, but OTOH I don't think it's exactly "normal" either, at least not per the spec.
