Default Aftermarket shifter removal

I have a little too much time on my hands today and the (what is the German translation for tifosi?) probably love having the redundant shifter, but has anyone considered a removal for the shifter and replacement that would just have buttons for P, R, N, D, M? Every DCT-equipped car that I've driven uses buttons to control the basic function of the transmission and I'd prefer an unobstructed view of and access to the sound and HVAC controls.

I know, first world compounded with weird, but WTH.

PDK (DCT) is still relatively new to Porsche compared to Ferrari..I don't think most owners are ready to be weened off the stick.

PDK has been around for 5 years, right? And didn't the shifter action reverse from 2010 to 2015? Buttons, I say!

PDK since 2009.
Keep the shifter.
Buttons are for video games, imo. However, the unobstructed view of the controls would be nice.

2011 last stick GT3, 2014 first year for PDKs..so it's new in that sense for the GT3. Non GT Carrera's don't count.
