Default Fan running after turning car off?

First off today was a hot day....got home after work and a quick wash and parked the car....hadn't really paid attention to the temps at all....went into the garage about 10 min later and the fans were running.....they were not immediately after parking.....gotta assume it's normal cooling but never experienced it before.....

You're welcome.

Porsche has been using the fans to cool off the engine compartment after shut off for a while now. Depending on how hot it gets, they can run on and off up to half hour or more after shut off.

Yep happens with me too. But agree it was a little strange the first time after you walk out of the garage all quiet and walk back in 5 mins later and the fans are going!!

Very normal ......my 991S actually did it more than the GT3 which I assume under normal operations the GT3 has better airflow to the cooling ducts. Hot days it will run no problem.

My 2014 GT3 and 2014 AMG E63S both turn their fans on often after parking the cars in my garage and they will remain on often for 10-30 minutes. Pretty weird to me at first when they started doing this, but I've gotten used to it by now. I've also noticed that, starting with my 2010 Panamera S, normal Oil and Water temps have risen considerably for the newer high performance cars, presumably for reducing internal Engine Friction thus increasing MPG to meet increasing governmental requirements worldwide.
On the older cars, getting anywhere close to the 212 Degrees at which water boils were a sure indication
of engine or radiator problems. Now that has become standard operating procedures for newer Engines.

Surprising they didn't mention that in the owner's manual.

Had many cars do it - had one car that set off the carbon monoxide alarm after I parked it and went for a run. Got home to 3 fire engines at my house...

Just had this happen too. Interestly, did not hear the fans go at all on a track day. Any way, like the fact it's cooling down.

My 996TT does this as well, so Porsche has had this feature for quite some time.

I have not heard mine go off yet and worried it may not be working. My other Porsches went off and even my R8. Does the GT3 run cooler or need less cooling the my other cars. I know - need to drive harder but a little worried

Jimmy, mine only goes off in warm weather or shutting it down after a hard drive. There are many times I drive home in an area with 35 mph speeds for a few miles which lets it cool down. Then I don't get the fan either.
