A few weeks ago I could not run the last HPDE4 session with NASA at Sebring because I saw a crack on the rear left tire (see the left side of the tire). I could only see on small section of the crack, but after the tire was removed from the rim, the crack went around almost 75% of the tire circumference. I could not find the PSC2 Porsche spec tire, so I talked to a guy from tire rack and decided to go with the PSC2 Ferrari spec tire. I'm not sure what else we are supposed to do. I sent the tire with the crack to Michelin and I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'm very grateful I was able to see this crack before the session.
Strange..."Arth" on these forums had exactly the same cut, in exactly the same place, on his left rear tire. After some 'negotiations', the one tire was replaced at dealer expense. Perhaps we should watch for more of a trend with these tires.
